WEEK 12 (thru Monday) ZZxlLfW
”The Cherry Pickers were the best team on Monday” is not what the rest of the league wanted to hear - but them be the facts as Mitch Marner (1g, 1a) guided the second-year franchise to an 11.2 point opener, the Pickers expanding their first place overall lead to 26.0 points.

Cherry Pickers: 11.2
Baba Booey: 3.0

The Cherry Pickers own the league’s best record at 9-2. Even if they lose all four of their remaining matches, the team could still be playoff-worthy at 9-6. GM Recoskie doesn’t want to take that chance as he travels to Calgary in search of victory No. 10. Baba Booey skates into Week 12 with a record of 5-6. If they defeat the Pickers they will own the tiebreaker. A lot more would have to happen, but that would be the first step in their long shot journey to secure one of the two Canuck division postseason tickets.
(Season series tied, 1-1)

Wild Ducks: 11.0
SC Cobras: 4.0

If the Yankee-best Wild Ducks, 8-3, lose the remainder of their matches, and the SC Cobras, 4-7, win all of theirs, both teams would finish with a mark of 8-7. The Ducks however already own the tiebreaker, having defeated the Cobras in Weeks 2 and 7. Thus, the Cobras have no shot at the Ducks. There are other teams to catch however, and crazier things have happened (Julia Roberts marrying Lyle Lovett, for example) - the SC Cobras skating into Week 12 with both of their playoff fingers crossed.
(Wild Ducks lead season series, 2-0)

Lumberjacks: 6.5
Boulder Flyers: 5.0

With a record of 3-8, the Boulder Flyers playoff ship has already sailed. GM Morgan remains focused however as he garners a great deal of pleasure by ruining the playoff dreams of others (may need some personal counseling, in that regard). The playoff fate of the Lumberjacks, 6-5, is entirely in their hands. The Canuck division team is currently seated in 2nd place. If they win their remaining four matches, they will be qualify for the 2020-21 postseason and it’s $200 purse, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
(Season series tied, 1-1)

Misconducts: 9.0
Central Red Army: 5.0

The Misconducts find themselves in the same position as the Lumberjacks. They are the sole owner of second place in the Yankee division. No team can deny them a berth in the playoffs if they win the remainder of their games. Winning this weeks match could prove to be the most important as the Central Red Army, 5-6, already own the tiebreaker - the Army dusting the Misconducts in their two previous encounters. With that fact buoying their boat, the Army begin play with a great deal of confidence - the team likely needing to win to keep their postseason hopes alive.
(Central Red Army lead season series, 2-0)

Rocky Rocks: 5.7
Bluliners: 3.3

Both the Bluliners and Rocky Rocks begin play with a record of 5-6; both teams seated one game behind the postseason. While the numbers appear equal, they’re not as the Bluliners already own the tiebreaker - the B’s having rolled the Rocks in their two previous meetings. As such, it’s imperative that GM Rocky guides his team to a win in Week 12. With four weeks remaining in the H2H regular season, the Bluliners may have some wiggle room, but not much. They also have to win.
(Bluliners lead season series, 2-0)

Polar Bears: 10.0
Ice Hogs: 8.9

After shredding the Misconducts the previous week, the Polar Bears, 3-8, have taken a liking to their acquired role of “Spoiler.” The Bears will be looking to administer the same pain as they travel to Troy, MI to engage the playoff-hopeful Ice Hogs. The Hogs own a record of 6-5. The team currently sits on the outside of the playoff bubble - one game behind the 2nd place Misconducts. With too many teams still playoff worthy, the Hogs need a win - and they’ll have a prime-time chance as they play host to second worst team in the league.
(Ice Hogs lead season series, 2-0)
