WEEK 11 (thru Monday) Empty

WEEK 11 (thru Monday) AD6iA98
Joonas Korpisalo was at his “Not on My Watch” best on Monday evening, the sixth round draft selection posting a 37 save, 3.7 point win - his 12th victory of the season - the four-time FHL Cup champion Bluliners moving into fourth place in the overall standings.

Bluliners: 6.7
Polar Bears: 5.0

A non-divisional pairing featuring the rising Bluliners, 5-5, and the fading Polar Bears, 3-7. A member of the Probert division, the Bluliners are knotted in a three-way tie for 2nd place. A win could place the team on top of their division; a loss would send them to the cellar. With the H2H regular season approaching its midpoint, the Bears are co-holding the worst record in the league - a distinction that never equates to postseason play. As such, the Bears are (yet again) in dire need of a win.

Vegas Vipers: 3.8
Cherry Pickers: 0.0

The Cherry Pickers bring a 5-5 mark to this non-divisional battle, the Probert-based Pickers currently sharing 2nd place with both the Bluliners and Boulder Flyers. Like the Bluliners (and the Flyers) this match is pivotal, the team’s movement to be stamped either “Northerly” or “Southerly” at weeks end.  Once strapped with a record of 1-5, the Vipers turnaround has been remarkable, a four-match winning streak placing the teeming team a mere two games behind the Grimson division leader; the outcome of their Week 11 match no longer a life or death scenario.

Boulder Flyers: 4.0
Badger Bob: 11.0

Hoping to avoid their third consecutive loss, Badger Bob has hitched their wagon and set out for Michigan. There they will engage the Boulder Flyers, a 5-5 team currently residing in the cramped quarters of second place in the Probert. With the best record in the league, the Bobs are under no real pressure to win, however the team could be forced to share the Grimson penthouse should they lose another. The Flyers meanwhile are in the exact same position as the Cherry Pickers and Bluliners (see above).

Ice Hogs: 3.0
Rocky Rocks: 3.0

The Ice Hogs are sitting atop the Probert division but no less than three teams are banging on their first place door, the Hogs under intense pressure as they head to the Great White North to engage Rocky Rocks. Based solely on their H2H records, the match looks like a gimmie for the Hogs, their 6-4 mark outshining the league-worst 3-7 record of Rocky Rocks. The win-needy Rocks however are seated higher in the overall standings, the 5th place squad, to date, not being treated kindly by the H2H Hockey Gods.

SC Cobras: 1.0
Wild Ducks: 3.0

The SC Cobras bring a 5-5 record to their first 2019-20 meeting with the Wild Ducks, the snakes sitting one game behind the Domi division leader. A win could place the Cobras on top of their division; a loss will not. The Grimson division title - and an automatic birth in the playoffs - didn’t seem like it was gonna happen a few weeks back, but now the Wild Ducks are in the hunt, the Ducks trailing the league-best Bobs by just one game.

Central Red Army: 6.8
Misconducts: 0.0

The only intra-division match of the week features the Domi-leading Misconducts, 6-4, and the Central Red Army; the Army bringing a 4-6 record and a two game deficit to this pivotal encounter. The match is much more important to the Army as a loss would toss the team three games back. The Misconducts meanwhile continue to bask in the glow of the Domi spotlight, though the tanning lamp isn’t quite as bright, their lead reduced to one game last week.
