| The game of Roope Hintz has taken off in 2020-21, the 24 year-old Week 9 waiver-wire find collecting another goal, two assists and 5.0 points, his Wild Ducks team - with 12.5 Friday points in all - on the verge of winning what would be their first-ever FHL H2H Championship.Championship MatchLumberjacks: 46.9 Wild Ducks: 50.0 This back-and-forth match, which was back yesterday but forth again today, now favors the Wild Ducks; the Ducks carrying a light 3.1 point lead into a heavy 14-game Saturday. The Lumberjacks have no one playing on Sunday (only two games) so if they’re going to win the 2020-21 H2H championship (and $120.00) they will have to leave a very deep mark on Saturday. Consolation MatchCherry Pickers: 37.0 Central Red Army: 47.6 Friday did nothing to improve the Cherry Pickers chances of winning the $30.00 consolation prize, the struggling franchise recording just 3.0 points. The Central Red Army weren’t much better but their 4.0 point showing did pad their lead slightly, the Army now leading the Pickers by 10.6. Like the Lumberjacks, the Cherry Pickers will dress no one on Sunday, as such - also like the Lumberjacks - if they’re going to win this match, their Saturday will have to be super. The Ice Hogs run at the FHL Cup has been buoyed by the inspired play of Alec Martinez, the undrafted defenseman - acquired via the waiver-wire in Week 5 - potting another goal and 3.0 points (10.0 FHL points in his past three games), the 1st place Hogs and their 7.0 point Friday now sitting on a 13.2 point lead. The Battle for the FHL CupWith their dismal performance the Cherry Pickers were dispatched to 3rd place overall, the Pickers now trailing their former 1st place home by 13.4 points. The Wild Ducks and their solid Friday are now in 2nd place. The Lumberjacks’ Cup-hopes took a direct hit with their uninspired 3.0 point effort, the Jacks now sitting a distant 21.5 points back. Rocky Rocks championship hopes are also fading, the banged-up Rocks now 24.9 points in rear of 1st place after their forgettable 2.0 point effort. The Bout for the MoneyThe 2nd place Wild Ducks and 3rd place Cherry Pickers are quietly distancing themselves from the money-challengers, the 4th place Lumberjacks now trailing the final money spot (3rd place) by 8.1 points. The 5th place Rocks are 11.5 point back. The Misconducts - a long shot money hopeful - are currently seated 37.0 points behind the green. The Scrap for the Laughing BagAn emergency call was placed to the FHL Engraver on Friday evening - “STOP INSCRIBING 'POLAR BEARS' ON THE LAUGHING BAG!!” was the frenzied message, Joe Pavelski (2g, 2a, 10 pts) and his Bears erupting for a league-best 19.0 points; the outburst placing the ain’t-dead-yet Bears just 27.3 points in back of 11th place. The Bears performance has also drawn Baba Booey back into the Laughing Bag conversation, the 10th place Booeys currently seated only 33.8 points clear of the basement. BONUS LEADERBOARD1.
