| Subject: WEEK 22 (thru Friday) Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:30 am | |
| A quick glance at the scoreboard has everyone perplexed - including star forward Auston Matthews - the 1st place Wild Ducks (and their 60.3 point overall lead) remarkably and inexplicably on the verge of being eliminated from H2H postseason play; all the 11-10 teams currently winning, while the Ducks, 11-10, are trailing their opponent by 11.9 points.SC Cobras: 41.9 Wild Ducks: 30.0 The Boulder Flyers, 11-10, are winning by 14.1; the Cherry Pickers, 11-10, are winning by 24.8; the Central Red Army, 11-10, are winning by 31.3; the SC Cobras, 11-10, are winning this match. If Week 22 stays the course, the Wild Ducks - the outright best team in the league - will not skate in the postseason. How is this possible, you ask? Damn, I’m not really sure. Central Red Army: 52.0 Misconducts: 20.7 Even on relatively quiet six-game days, the Central Red Army continue to pile on the points, Matthew Tkachuk (4a) guiding his torrid team to a strong 10.0 point showing; the hottest team in the league now leading the coldest team in the league by too many points. Ice Hogs: 36.1 Rocky Rocks: 30.6Rocky Rocks were dropped by a 24.4 point haymaker on Thursday - but like the Rocky’s who preceded him - GM Rocky rose from the canvas, a 5.6 point Day 5 drawing the hard-nosed Rocks to within 5.5 points of a come-from-behind upset win. Polar Bears: 36.0 Bluliners: 23.9 The Bluliners had an outside shot at qualifying for the seven-team playoffs - but they would need help from other teams. Scratch that as the Bluliners can’t even seem to help themselves, the tanking team and their 12.1 point shortfall seemingly bound for the weed-infested fairways of FHL Meadows. Cherry Pickers: 48.5 Vegas Vipers: 23.7After shredding Thursday for a league-best 28.0 points, the Cherry Pickers used Friday to mostly rest, the playoff-hopeful team netting only a single point. The Vegas Vipers recorded just 4.9, their deep deficit still borderline insurmountable with now, only two days remaining in the week. Boulder Flyers: 33.4 Badger Bob: 19.3 Connor Hellebuyck’s NHL-best sixth shutout powered the Boulder Flyers to an 11.8 point Friday. Badger Bob countered with nothing, GM Morgan and his bounding birds now leading by double digits ahead of a typically stout 10-game Saturday. LINK: Standings |
