WEEK 21 (FINAL) B4l1ZQG
Nicklas Backstrom quietly acknowledges his team’s Week 21 victory - the veteran center barely managing a smile knowing there is still work to be done - the Ice Hogs to finish with the league’s best H2H record, a first round postseason bye and an automatic berth in the playoff semifinals.

Ice Hogs: 44.5
Polar Bears: 32.0

By winning 11 of their last 12 matches, the Ice Hogs will finish as the best H2H team in the league; the Hogs now 16-5 with one week remaining in the H2H regular season. Despite a gallant effort, the Polar Bears lost for the 17th time in 21 matches, the Bear limping, mercifully, into the final week of the regular season with a league-worst mark of 4-17.

Cherry Pickers: 58.0
Wild Ducks: 51.2

Not to be denied, the Cherry Pickers ripped 18.3 points on Sunday to defeat the fast-charging Wild Ducks, the first-year franchise now playoff-worthy with a mark of 11-10. While there are five teams with a record of 11-10, the Pickers - despite being lodged behind them all in the overall standings - own three of the four tiebreakers. The Pickers, remarkably, are a perfect 2-0 against the Ducks, Cobras and Flyers. The Wild Ducks stumbled to 11-10 for the season, GM Collard’s league-best team now, surprisingly, sitting on the slippery slope of the playoff bubble.

Central Red Army: 55.6
Vegas Vipers: 26.6

By routinely winning their 6th consecutive match, the Central Red Army eliminated the Vegas Vipers from playoff contention. However, despite their vastly improved play, the Army are still sitting outside of the postseason picture, trailing four 11-10 teams by tiebreakers. Overall, the situation is looking up, GM Buker and his troops now just 55.0 points from the green pastures of 3rd place ($150.00). By losing, the Vegas Vipers were dispatched to the first tee at FHL Meadows, the conquered 10-11 squad with no shot at qualifying for the playoffs.

SC Cobras: 63.2
Badger Bob: 41.0

By thrashing Badger Bob with the week's best score, the SC Cobras are still a playoff team, GM Murphy’s squad improving to 11-10 with the all-important win. The Cobras now control their postseason destiny as a win in Week 22 would lock a spot in the seven-team playoffs. Badger Bob slipped to 13-8 with the lopsided loss. It wasn’t all bad news however as the playoff-bound Bobs - with the Wild Ducks losing - claimed the Grimson division title.

Rocky Rocks: 35.2
Bluliners: 23.2

It was truly a forgettable week for the Bluliners as they tumbled out of the postseason picture, shockingly losing to an injury-riddled team that hasn’t made a roster move since January 13th. While every FHL prognosticator (and their mothers) projected the Bluliners to be 11-10 and playoff-worthy at weeks end, the team is now 10-11 - the Bluliners postseason season hopes hanging by a frayed thread. By winning, Rocky Rocks is no longer the worst H2H team in the league, the abandoned franchise improving to 5-16 overall, one game better than the bottom-feeding Polar Bears.

Boulder Flyers: 42.8
Misconducts: 21.9

After clinching the Domi division title in Week 20 (and earning an automatic berth in the playoffs) the Misconducts apparently took a celebratory break in Week 21, the tanking team finishing with the worst score of the week - a performance that left the Misconducts with a record of 13-8. By winning, the Boulder Flyers are still a playoff team, the squad improving to a 11-10 on the year; the Flyers possibly (depending on who does what) needing another win to retain their ticket to the 2019-20 postseason.
