WEEK 22 (FINAL) 5U6THAM
His Polar Bears team trailing heading into Sunday evening, Jared McCann donned his cape and saved the day, the unheralded 22 year-old netting two goals and 4.0 crucial points, the Bears - facing postseason extinction - rallying past the Ice Cats to claim one of seven spots in the 2018-19 playoffs.

Polar Bears: 47.6
Ice Cats: 45.7

It didn’t look good for the Polar Bears and their playoff hopes after Aaron Ekblad (2a, 3.0 pts) and his Ice Cats commandeered the lead. Trailing, the Bears only had a Jared McCann card up their sleeve while the Ice Cats’ deck was stacked with Jake Guentzel, Jonathan Marchessault and Connor Hellebuyck. The Bears would somehow survive, the squad closing the season with a playoff-worthy record of 11-11. The Ice Cats would fall just short of the postseason, the team departing with a mark of 9-13.

Wild Ducks: 34.0
Boulder Flyers: 29.1

The marquee match of the week - the battle for a first round playoff bye - turned out to be a dud, the week-worst Boulder Flyers falling to the almost-week-worst Wild Ducks. With the win the Ducks, 15-7, were granted a playoff pass; the team with one additional week to get their scattered team in order. The Boulder Flyers will slump into the playoffs with a record of 13-9, the team beginning postseason play as the 3rd seed and an opening round meeting with the Polar Bears.

Vegas Vipers: 42.9
Bluliners: 34.9

The Bluliners had to defeat the Vegas Vipers to have any shot at the postseason. They lost. The defeat however was easier to swallow as both the Bears and Cobras won - the Bluliners with no shot at the postseason, win or lose. In defeat, the Bluliners depart the season with a record of 9-12-1. Playing for bragging rights only, the Vegas Vipers improved to 9-12-1 with the win, the team landing 1.5 games shy of the playoffs.

SC Cobras: 52.6
Ice Hogs: 39.4

The SC Cobras and their week-best score will be heading to the playoffs as the 7th seed, the hot and cold team catching fire just in time to erase the Ice Hogs; the Cobras departing the regular season with a mark of 11-11 and a first round meeting with the same Ice Hogs team. The loss prevented the Ice Hogs from winning the Probert division outright, the 13-9 squad beginning postseason play as seed No. 2.

Central Red Army: 49.5
Concussion Junction: 38.6

The Central Red Army improved to 13-9 by taking down Concussion Junction - claiming the Domi division title in the process; the Army set to defend their 2017-18 H2H championship as the 4th seeded team. Concussion Junction put up a fight but would eventually fall, the team capping the season with a not-good-enough record of 9-13.

Misconducts: 48.8
Badger Bob: 42.4

The Misconducts held on to defeat Badger Bob, the squad finishing with a record of 12-10. As the 5th seed, the Misconducts will begin their quest for a share of the $200.00 playoff purse by engaging the Central Red Army. Badger Bob departs 2018-19 with a league-worst record of 7-15; last year’s H2H runner-up happy to say “good-bye and good riddance” to an immensely disappointing campaign.
