| For the first time in possibly forever, a team that was once buried in the basement has reached the top of Mt. FHL, the Wayne Simmonds-energized SC Cobras passing the Polar Bears on Tuesday, a 14.2 showing providing the expansion franchise with a 2.4 lead.SC Cobras: 14.2 Polar Bears: 6.0Not playing their best hockey in recent weeks, the Polar Bears were finally caught and passed by the streaking SC Cobras. The Cobras are also leading this Belle Tire "Match of the Week" confrontation, GM Murphy's sizzling squad currently 8.2 points better than GM Elya's punch-drunk Bears. Bluliners: 12.0 Ice Hogs: 26.1Their performance overshadowed by the ascent of the SC Cobras, the Ice Hogs harvested 26.1 huge points on the opening day of the week. Sidney Crosby lead the way with 13.0 points (3g, 1a) while a fresh-off-the-shelf Connor McDavid pocketed 4.0 (1g, 2a). All told the Hogs are suddenly in the Cup-chase mix, the one-time cellar-dweller trailing the first place Cobras by just 60.5. The Bluliners meanwhile climbed closer to the top, GM Hamilton's persistent squad just 3.6 points back. Between the Pipes: 10.0 Silicon Valley Slashers: 3.0Once the best team in the land, the Silicon Valley Slashers have fallen on hard times, a league-worst 3.0 point opener dropping GM Murphy's team 34.8 points behind the overall leader. The Slashers are also trailing their Week 16 opponent, Between the Pipes countering with 10.0 points; a number that has provided GM Miller with a 7.0 point advantage. Badger Bob: 5.4 Misconducts: 10.4A 10.4 showing has kept the Misconducts in the mix, GM Smalley's team still in 4th place but just 14.4 points in rear of the first place SC Cobras. Trailing the first place Polar Bears by just one game in the H2H standings, Badger Bob stumbled leaving the blocks, a 5.4 Tuesday dumping the Bobs into 8th place overall, their H2H deficit currently 5.0. Central Red Army: 13.1 Wild Ducks: 10.6Hired to turn the franchise around, GM Buker is off to a solid start, his Central Red Army squad collecting 13.1 points on the opening day. The heavy number has placed the Army 2.5 points in front of the Wild Ducks, a team that remains stuck in 11th place, now 117.8 behind the best of the FHL. Boulder Flyers: 13.0 Ice Cats: 7.9The Boulder Flyers weren't great on Tuesday but they were good enough, a 13.0 start good for a 5.1 lead. The defending FHL champion however is still having trouble moving forward, GM Morgan's team now 91.9 points back. The Ice Cats closed the day in 6th place overall, GM Cutshall's Cats currently 53.7 points behind the first place SC Cobras. LINK: Standings |

| in that it proves one Flyers' fan can spell a few words correctly. Hey, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn periodically.
At any rate, always good to see photo of Crosby posted on this forum. Just a reminder for all of us what greatness looks like.
For those who says they "hate" Crosby, as Dirty Harry says, "You've got to ask yourself a question..."
Would you "hate" Crosby if he tomorrow were traded to the team your root for? If you can't honestly answer "yes" and provide a reasonable explanation, then you fall into what I call the category of "faux" haters. And if that's the case, don't worry. You aren't the first nor won't be the last of those I encounter.

| I would hate that thought..
It has happened in my lifetime when Brett Hull was on the Wings.. That guy was never supposed to be a Red Wing.. Todd Bertuzzi another one..
Other notable hates Ed Belfour Jeremy Roenick Peter Forsberg(although I would have gladly welcomed Joe Sakic to the Wings) Chris Pronger
Although I admit I was proven wrong before with Chelios,,

That's not a valid argument as you could say that about any player; a star, a grinder, an enforcer, a scrub. It's the old Seinfeld joke, the one about how sports fans don't root for the player, they root for the jersey they're wearing. So yes, if Crosby was wearing a Red Wings jersey, Detroit would try very hard to love the guy, but it doesn't mean he'd be deserving of the love. |

YES! Always hated Pronger, even tho I knew he was a great player. Hated ALL the Avs players back when they were the Wings arch-enemy, but Forsberg was easily one of the best players I have ever seen. Loved his battles with Konstantinov, especially in the playoffs. Belfour was a Shark for ten minutes one season, and put up one of the single best games I've ever seen out of a Sharks goalie...so I hated him a little less after that I hated Raffi Torres before he became a Shark...and now I hate him even more. |
