WEEK 17 (thru Monday) Empty

WEEK 17 (thru Monday) Y4AmKso
The one-man wrecking crew known as Connor McDavid cut another wide path of destruction on Monday, the first overall draft pick netting two goals, two assists and 10.0 points - his 22nd NHL point in his past 8 games - the Wild Ducks commandeering an early 4.5 point lead in the 2020-21 FHL Head-to-Head Championship match.

Championship Match

Lumberjacks: 17.0
Wild Ducks: 21.5

Despite the solid start, it's not all peaches and cream for the Wild Ducks as star forward Alexander Ovechkin was returned to the shelf; GM Collard possibly having to play shorthanded for the duration of the seven-day championship match. That’s all well and good with GM Recoskie, his Lumberjacks team already in need of help as they lace their skates in preparation for an atypically light five-game Tuesday.

Consolation Match

Cherry Pickers: 14.0
Central Red Army: 26.6

The Central Red Army wasn’t happy with their semifinal performance and they’re taking out their anger on the wheezing Cherry Pickers - Sebastian Aho pacing the Army’s 26.6 point assault with three goals and 9.0 points, the guns-blazing Army charging into Day 2 with an already thick 12.6 point lead.

WEEK 17 (thru Monday) Ieo3fm1
The Wild Ducks are now standing on the front porch of the Cherry Pickers, GM Collard using a Connor McDavid battering ram to try and breach GM Recoskie’s buckling 1st place door; the Ducks - by outpointing the Pickers 21.5 to 14.0 - now trailing what would be their 11th FHL Cup Championship by only 5.3 points.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
In the 28-year history of the league there has never been so many teams, at this point of the season, still actively pursuing the league championship - the shorter season, no doubt, breathing life into a few teams who may have already bit the dust. How close? The SC Cobras are in 6th place overall. The SC Cobras are only 20.8 points in back of the 1st place(!) Between the Cobras and Pickers sit the Ducks, Hogs, Rocks and Jacks - all with a very good chance of hoisting the FHL Cup on May 19th, the final day of the season.

The Bout for the Money
There was a lot of northerly movement on Monday as eight teams scored more points than the league-leading Cherry Pickers. With a league-best 26.6 points, the Central Red Army moved the most - GM Buker still hopeful of a green finish, his Army currently camped 43.3 points in back of $150.00 (3rd place).

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
Defenseman Roman Josi (2g, 9.0 pts) powered the Boulder Flyers to a 23.5 point Monday - the upstart Flyers further distancing themselves from the dreaded Laughing Bag, GM Morgan’s squad now 30.7 points in front of the last place Polar Bears; all signs currently pointing to the Flyers successfully avoiding what would be their first-ever Bag and the Bears, successfully defending their Laughing Bag, err, crown.
