WEEK 2 (FINAL) BscSkx7
It’s not every day a 36 year-old defenseman heists 17.0 points from the FHL, but that’s what happened on Friday as rearguard Andrei Markov drew his Slashers team to within 0.3 of first place, netting one goal and dishing out four assists.

Misconducts: 52.4
Silicon Valley Slashers: 49.4

In one of the craziest H2H matches in FHL history, the Silicon Valley Slashers were stunned by the never-say-die Misconducts. After Markov’s career game the Slashers appeared bound for an improbable comeback win. The Misconducts however had Evgeny Kuznetsov tucked up their sleeve, the previously unheralded forward bagging 17.0 points of his own (3g, 2a), landing the Misconducts their second victory of the season. How bad is the Slashers luck? Even though they are less than a point out of first place, GM Murphy’s expansion franchise is still hunting for their first H2H win.

Ice Hogs: 36.2
Wild Ducks: 23.7

The Ice Hogs pocketed their first “W” of 2015-16, brushing aside the toothless Wild Ducks. In the overall standings the Ice Hogs still find themselves near the door to the cellar, currently leading the basement-dwelling Cobras by just 4.0. None of the Ducksville residents are smiling as GM Collard snatched just a single point from the point-orgy Friday. The miserable outing left the Wild Ducks with a record of 1-1, their overall outlook considerably darker as they slumped into 8th place, 30.4 behind the first place Polar Bears.

Polar Bears: 45.3
Between the Pipes: 13.0

The Polar Bears had absolutely no problem with Between the Pipes, a 14.3 Friday more points than the Pipes scored all week. In the end GM Elya would walk away with a 32.3 victory, improving to 2-0 on the season; the team once again in first place. The FHL record for “fewest points scored in a week” is 11.0. The Pipes narrowly avoided that distinction as they departed the week with 13.0, a far cry from the numbers GM Miller hoarded in the opening frame. As a result the previously in first place Pipes now find themselves in 9th place, 31.2 points shy of FHL nirvana.

Redliners: 59.2
Boulder Flyers: 46.0

Historically a good come-from-behind team, the Boulder Flyers had high hopes for the final day of Week 2. Those hopes were eventually dashed as Redliner Mark Giordano buried GM Morgan’s once hopeful squad, the greased-elbow defender bagging 13.0 points (2g, 1a) to lay the Boulder Flyers to rest. The huge 18.0 outing lifted GM Megan’s squad into 6th place, their H2H record now 1-1. The Boulder Flyers record, also 1-1.

Ice Cats: 40.5
Bluliners: 40.1

The closest match of the week finds the Ice Cats licking their paws, GM Cutshall’s team narrowly defeating the Bluliners. The 0.4 victory left the Cats with a still perfect record of 2-0. The overall picture also remains bright for GM Cutshall. Though in 5th place the Cats are less than 10.0 behind the galloping Bears. The difficult loss left the Bluliners still prowling for their first win, GM Hamilton’s 7th place team (overall) team now 0-2.

Badger Bob: 52.8
SC Cobras: 20.7

Jonathan Quick paced the Badger Bob attack, backstopping a 40 save shutout (8.0 points). With a total of 10.0 points for the day, the Bobs laid additional hurt on the Cobras, improving to 2-0 with the lopsided 32.1 win. Overall, Badger Bob resides in 4th place, just 2.1 back. The Cobras, still slithering in the basement, fell to 0-2, their lot in the overall standings still grim as they now trail the FHL's top dog (bear) by 47.5.
