PLAYOFF PREVIEW - Semifinals A4Q9t2u VS. PLAYOFF PREVIEW - Semifinals JTZw60F

COMBATANTS: Cherry Pickers (13-9); SC Cobras (13-10)
AT STAKE: The winner advances to the title match where they will compete for the 2021-22 H2H Championship and it’s $120.00 prize. The loser will be dispatched to the consolation match; their childhood dream of one day winning a fantasy hockey H2H championship, obliterated.
H2H: The SC Cobras and Cherry Pickers played in Weeks 3 and 14. The SC Cobras won the first meeting, 52.3 to 42.9; the Pickers were the better team the second time around, defeating the Cobras, 68.2 to 49.5.
POINTS PER WEEK, AVERAGE: Cherry Pickers (50.1); SC Cobras (45.1)
OVERVIEW: Despite being lodged in the lower half of the standings for much of the year, the SC Cobras were one of the best H2H teams. Last week, FHL prognosticators considered nothing but the overall standings, and they got their asses kicked; all three lower ranked teams advancing. The prognosticators aren’t going to make the same mistake this week, that’s why they’re giving the SC Cobras every chance to topple the higher ranked Cherry Pickers - the Pickers beginning play in an extremely vulnerable state having posted the league’s worst score in Week 23.

COMBATANTS: Misconducts (14-9); Lumberjacks (13-10)
AT STAKE: The team that wins this match will be guaranteed at least $50.00 (2nd place). The loser would still be eligible for the $20.00 consolation prize, or nothing. This ain’t the final, but there’s a lot at stake.
H2H: The two teams did battle in Weeks 5 and 16. Their first meeting was a low scoring affair, the Lumberjacks prevailing 35.0 to 23.0. Their second meeting also didn’t result in a lot of points, the Misconducts scoring only 23.2, but still defeating the Jacks by 4.2.
POINTS PER WEEK, AVERAGE: Misconducts (46.6); Lumberjacks (45.6)
OVERVIEW: The overall standings are saying the higher ranked Misconducts will win - but we now know that the overall standings are full of shit. As such, it’s impossible to predict who will advance, so we won’t.
Sidenote: At FHL Headquarters, the bigwigs are quietly rooting for the Lumberjacks - the league hoping for a Cherry Pickers and Lumberjacks final - a television ratings bonanza, so thinks the league, given the championship match can be hyped as a “Recoskie vs. Recoskie” showdown; i.e. an FHL Family Feud of epic proportions.
