| Order is slowly being restored to the first round of the H2H playoffs as all three “favorites” outpointed their opponents on Day 4; Baba Booey now with the largest H2H lead as they received another 3.0 point goal from emergency-hire Matt Dumba; the Booeys and their 12.5 point effort now 6.2 points better than the Jacks.Round One, PlayoffsBaba Booey: 28.9 Lumberjacks: 22.7 The Lumberjacks were held to just 5.0 points as they saw their once comfortable lead evaporate, the dark horse Jacks hoping for better as they lace their skates ahead of a relatively robust seven-game Friday. Boulder Flyers: 23.6 SC Cobras: 29.9 While order may have been restored, the situation is still disorderly for the Boulder Flyers - the favored franchise (7.6) outpointing the SC Cobras (6.1) by a mere 1.5 points; the Flyers still skating toward an unexpected ass-kicking as they trail by 6.3. Wild Ducks: 31.9 Misconducts: 31.6 The Misconducts carded 9.0 points but it wasn’t enough to defend their 5.7 point lead, the Wild Ducks and their strong 15.0 point effort now leading this pitched battle of FHL graybeards by 0.3. Brent Burns (as he has done before) may be guiding the Wild Ducks to yet another FHL Cup championship, the 37 year-old defenseman netting a goal and 3.0 of his team’s 15.0 points; the high-tailing Ducks now within whispering distance of 1st place as they trail the Boulder Flyers by 1.6.The Battle for the FHL CupAlthough they were demoted from 2nd place to 3rd place, the Bluliners still gained ground on the FHL Cup; the B’s and their 8.0 point effort now just 7.2 points from the top. In 2nd place, the Wild Ducks are an Auston Matthews shift from the lead. Baba Booey made significant headway in their quest for what would be their first ever FHL championship, the Booeys drawing to within 26.0 points with their 12.5 point effort. The Bout for the MoneyBaba Booey is closing in on a money finish, the 3rd year franchise trailing 3rd place overall ($120.00) by just 18.8 points. The Cherry Pickers only scored 4.0 points, so that didn’t help. The 9th place Ice Hogs (20.4) were the best team on Thursday, but their money-chances are still listed as “slim to none.” The Central Red Army notched 9.4, which is good, but they’re gonna have to locate something more explosive as the season officially enters its final month of play. The Scrap for the Laughing BagFor the second consecutive day Rocky Rocks scored more points than the SC Cobras, the last place Rocks not yet pushing up daisies as they moved to within 36.2 points of ground level. BONUS LEADERBOARD1. Ice Hogs, 45.0 2. Polar Bears, 41.2 3. Wild Ducks, 31.9 4. Misconducts, 31.6 5. Bluliners, 31.4 LINK: Standings |
