WEEK 8 (FINAL) Be6dWQ3
By having the best hand of the week - scoring a league-high 67.6 points - the Lumberjacks were once again awarded the $10.00 best-week bonus, the first-year franchise hoarding the weekly prize as they have won three of the eight bonuses awarded thus far (that’s 38% of the moola, for those keeping score at home).

Lumberjacks: 67.6
Bluliners: 62.8

It was a huge week for the Lumberjacks as not only did they pocket $10.00, they defeated one of the best Canuck division teams; the playoff-focused Jacks, 4-4, moving to within two games of the division lead. The Bluliners had a chance to snag a share of the Canuck lead but stumbled just short of a win - the Bluliners still one game back with a record of 5-3. All told however, it was a good week for GM Hamilton as his team dismissed the Cherry Pickers midweek, laying claim to first place overall.

Misconducts: 48.4
Wild Ducks: 40.9

There is a massive logjam atop the highly competitive Yankee division as no fewer than four teams are tied for the lead. The Misconducts and Wild Ducks are two of the four teams, GM Smalley’s squad rising to the No. 1 position by knocking off the Ducks. The Ducks had a chance to lead the division outright, but couldn’t get a handle their nemesis opponent, GM Collard carting a still-respectable record of 5-3 into week nine.

Ice Hogs: 65.6
SC Cobras: 64.1

It wasn’t easy but the Ice Hogs were able to withstand their high scoring opponent, GM Henry’s squad improving to 5-3 by denying the SC Cobras. With the win, the Hogs take a seat next to the Ducks, Army and Misconducts - all four sitting atop the Yankee. The SC Cobras were the unlucky loser, the squad - despite posting a very impressive number - handed their sixth loss of the season, the Cobras, 2-6, now buried three games back.

Baba Booey: 56.7
Boulder Flyers: 44.8

Baba Booey’s playoff chances are looking considerably better after dismissing the dismissable Boulder Flyers; the Booey’s improving to 4-4 with the victory - the first-year franchise now seated just two games behind the Canuck leader and just one game shy of the postseason. The Boulder Flyers were never really in this match, the last place team - both overall and within their division - heading to the season’s midpoint with a lowpoint record of 1-7.

Rocky Rocks: 50.0
Cherry Pickers: 47.2

Don’t look now but the Cherry Pickers have lost two matches in a row - the previously unblemished franchise now sporting two pockmarks; the Pickers slumping to 6-2. Despite the loss, the Pickers were able to maintain their Canuck division supremacy, the second-year franchise one game better than the second place Bluliners. Rocky Rocks improved to 4-4 on the season. Their playoff chance in deep trouble not that long ago, the Rocks are once again a member of the playoff conversation, the team trailing the best of the Canuck by just two games.

Central Red Army: 40.6
Polar Bears: 36.1

Despite struggling, the Central Red Army were fortunate to depart the week with a win (their opponent posting the week's worst score) - the Army now tied for the Yankee division lead with a commendable record of 5-3. The Polar Bears were in dire need of a win but dropped the puck, GM Elya’s postseason hopes now on life support as his team skates into Week 9 with a hugely disappointing record of 2-6; the Bears seated in last place, three games behind four division leaders.

WEEK 9
Central Red Army v. Wild Ducks
Ice Hogs v. Misconducts
Polar Bears v. SC Cobras
Baba Booey v. Rocky Rocks
Lumberjacks v. Cherry Pickers
Boulder Flyers v. Bluliners
