WEEK 1 (FINAL) Empty

WEEK 1 (FINAL) Qe56ieh
Jake Guentzel can’t contain himself as he holds the spoils of a “Best Week” score - his Misconducts team awarded $10.00 for their league-leading 53.4 point Week 1 performance. NOTE: At press time, the league was unable to confirm if the hand displayed in the photo (far right) belongs to the GM of the Central Red Army, the team that finished with the second best score.

Misconducts: 53.4
Polar Bears: 36.0

The Misconducts could not have asked for a better start, the two-time FHL Cup champion opening the season with all guns a'blazin'; GM Smalley sporting a smile, a record of 1-0 and a first place lead of 11.1 points. The Polar Bears played well but have an 0-1 record to show for their not-good-enough effort. The Bears however seem well on their way to shedding their forgettable Laughing Bag performance of last year, the 2016 FHL Cup Champion skating into Week 2 just 17.4 points from the top rung of the FHL ladder.

Central Red Army: 42.3
SC Cobras: 18.6

Good early, the Central Red Army had the inside track to the Best Week bonus, but faltered down the stretch - the winded squad landing in second place overall, 11.1 points in rear of the Misconducts. Despite their disappointment, the Army was handed a well-deserved win and sit, with two others, atop the Yankee division. After finishing in the money last year, the SC Cobras were hoping for great things in 2021. The Cobras can still make their mother proud, but they’ll have to play far better, GM Murphy and his sulking snakes beginning Week 2 as the worst team in the league.

Cherry Pickers: 35.8
Boulder Flyers: 31.4

The Cherry Pickers bolted out of the Week 1 blocks - then coasted for the remaining days of the week; their strong start proving just enough to vanquish the Boulder Flyers. With the win, the Pickers improve to 1-0 on the season; GM Recoskie currently parked in 6th place overall. The Boulder Flyers were hoping for one bonus-laden game, but never got it, a mediocre 31.4 points resulting in a mediocre slot in the standings; the 9th place Flyers stumbling to 0-1 on the young season.

Rocky Rocks: 38.9
Lumberjacks: 31.8

Last year Rocky Rocks recorded the league’s worst H2H record, the first-year franchise finishing with a mark of 5-17. With a year of experience under their belt, the Canuck division resident is primed for bigger-and-better in 2021. So far so good as the seasoned squad rolled over the Lumberjacks, the Rocks improving to 1-0. In the hunt for much of the week, as the finish line approached, the Lumberjacks would run out of gas; a competitive first week resulting in a disappointing loss, GM Recoskie (the Don version) to begin Week 2 still in search of an FHL H2H win.

Bluliners: 29.2
Baba Booey: 22.2

Neither team was able to bust through the 30.0 point barrier - both the Bluliners and Baba Booey struggling in Week 1; both teams landing in the lower half of the standings. The Bluliners however were the better of the two strugglers, GM Hamilton’s squad improving to 1-0 with the fortunate win. First-year franchise Baba Booey begin their FHL career with the deadweight of a bad first week resting on their shoulders, the Canuck division team, 0-1, already parked close to the dank FHL basement - the 11th place Booey’s trailing the best of the FHL by 31.2 points.

Ice Hogs: 38.0
Wild Ducks: 34.6

H2H-wise, very little has changed over the past 10 months - last year's best H2H team dispatching their 10-time champion opponent; the Ice Hogs improving to 1-0 with yet another victory. The Wild Ducks - despite their overall success - have seemingly always struggled with H2H confrontations. Such was the case, again, in Week 1 as GM Collard and his winless Ducks waddled to a loss, the defending FHL Cup champion nesting uncomfortably in 7th place overall.

WEEK 2
Polar Bears v. Ice Hogs
Wild Ducks v. SC Cobras
Misconducts v. Central Red Army
Boulder Flyers v. Lumberjacks
Rocky Rocks v. Bluliners
Cherry Pickers v. Baba Booey
