With the H2H Championship cake already baked, the SC Cobras are looking for icing - and that icing was provided by Shea Theodore, the 26 year-old defenseman twine-ing a goal, an assist and 6.0 of his team’s Wednesday-best 14.0 points, the sizzling Cobras now leading the fizzling Misconducts by 36.6.

Championship Match, Playoffs

SC Cobras: 100.5
Misconducts: 63.4­
The Fat Lady will be pulling double-duty this week (not what the league and their TV ratings wanted), the Misconducts - who might be assessed a misconduct penalty for their championship match performance - now trailing the SC Cobras by close to 40.0 points with only four days remaining in the 14-day contest.

Consolation Match, Playoffs

Cherry Pickers: 62.9
Lumberjacks: 96.7­
The Cherry Pickers have sent 14 players to the plate in Week 26 and have only 5.0 points to show for their effort, the best H2H team during the regular season barrel-rolling toward a lopsided loss. That’s the bad news. The good news, relatively speaking - the Lumberjacks didn’t score on Wednesday, the Pickers daunting deficit reduced to a still-daunting 33.8 points.




Alexander Ovechkin was his usual self on Wednesday, the ageless 36 year-old sniper ripping goals 49 and 50 - his 9th career 50+ goal season - the 4th place Wild Ducks drawing to within 0.7 points of Top-3 money.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
With Mikko Rantanen sidelined (illness) and their scrub fill-in forwards playing like scrub fill-in forwards, the finish can’t get here fast enough for the Boulder Flyers; the team somehow increasing their advantage to 44.6 despite scoring only 6.0 points. Baba Booey has lost ground thus far but their Penguins have yet to tee-up the puck, Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel slated to play three games over the final four days of the week. In 3rd place, the Bluliners trail by 59.3 points; the Ducks, 60.0.

The Bout for the Money
The Central Red Army only scored 3.6 points but they scooted 1.6 points closer to the money, the 5th place squad now seated 33.1 points behind $120.00. The Cherry Pickers remain a money long shot, the 6th place squad planted 50.9 points back.

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
I’m going to save my grilled cheese recipe for the final week of the season, but for now, probably the best (and easiest) pot of soup you’ll ever make. If you enjoy the flavor of stuffed peppers - this recipe can’t be beat. Every time I serve this soup I've been asked for the recipe (true story). Note: If you don’t eat meat, use veggie crumbles instead of ground beef. Also, for some kick, toss-in a couple of jalapeno peppers with the green peppers.
