Valeri Nichushkin bagged two goals and 4.0 of his team’s 15.8 points - the SC Cobras possibly cruising to a huge first round upset win, the 6th seeded snakes leading the FHL-best Boulder Flyers by 5.8 points with five days left to be played.

Round One, Playoffs

Boulder Flyers: 14.0
SC Cobras: 19.8­
If they haven’t already, the Boulder Flyers should soon be receiving a loud wake up call, the favored franchise receiving unexpected resistance from their opening round opponent; GM Murphy all smiles as his in-form SC Cobras are tracking toward a berth in the H2H semifinals.

Wild Ducks: 10.0
Misconducts: 18.6­
Day 2 has arrived and GM Smalley is still basking in the sunshine of a lead, the Misconducts netting 10.6 points to pad their unexpected advantage by 1.6; GM Collard and his Wild Ducks now glaring at a troubling 8.6 point deficit.

Baba Booey: 15.4
Lumberjacks: 14.5­
Matt Dumba pocketed a goal as Baba Booey harvested 11.4 points - the Booeys bolting in front of the Lumberjacks on Tuesday; GM Carling feeling good about his chances as he preps his team for a six-game Wednesday.



Morgan Rielly scored a goal and added an assist, the 28 year-old defenseman pacing the Polar Bears 18.2 point attack; the Bears still with an outside shot of landing in the money as the 2021-22 season enters its final month.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
There was very little movement among the Top 3 as the Boulder Flyers number (10.0) was more-or-less matched by the Wild Ducks (9.0) and Bluliners (9.4). Beyond that however some rumbling was heard; Baba Booey, in 4th place, drawing to within 29.9 points of 1st place overall. The 5th place Cherry Pickers took a step back as a disappointing 4.0 points dropped the team 37.7 points behind the league leader.

The Bout for the Money
With Connor McDavid in tow you can never count out the Polar Bears, the 2016 FHL Cup Champion and their 18.2 point Tuesday moving to within 76.7 points of a money finish. In 6th place overall, the Central Red Army now trail the loot by 67.9 points; a quiet 5.0 points doing nothing to enhance their Top 3 chances.

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
The 11th place SC Cobras are playing well, so the odds of them being caught by the defused, and last place Rocks are long indeed; the FHL Board of Directors - with no real scrap for the Laughing Bag - currently contemplating what to do with this space over the final four weeks of the season.
