WEEK 8 (FINAL) PB8MCr7
WEEK 8 (FINAL) NxxhuPi
GM Henry couldn’t contain his excitement upon learning that his Ice Hogs team had won their first match of the season; the defending FHL Cup Champion overcoming an early week deficit to soundly defeat the Boulder Flyers, the Hogs - with the pivotal Probert division victory - skating into Week 9 with renewed hope of qualifying for the seven-team H2H playoffs.

Ice Hogs: 56.5
Boulder Flyers: 46.2

The Boulder Flyers appeared to be cruising toward a win as they led by 11.5 points on Wednesday. Beyond that it was nothing but bumps in the road, the team falling to 4-4 on the year; a record that drops the Flyers into 3rd place in the Probert division, one game behind the division leader. The Ice Hogs are now 1-7 for the season. While the odds of the Hogs qualifying for the playoffs are long, it’s certainly not impossible, their Probert division deficit now only four games with 14 weeks remaining in the H2H season.

Wild Ducks: 80.7
Misconducts: 51.3

The Wild Ducks were the best team on Sunday (27.0 points). The Wild Ducks were also the best team of the week, GM Collard awarded the $10.00 Best Week bonus for his 80.7 point performance. The Week 8 outburst not only provided the Ducks with a record of 5-3, the team also vaulted into 2nd place overall, just 6.4 points shy of the 1st place Booeys. The Misconducts played very well but have nothing to show for their effort, GM Smalley’s tough-luck squad now strapped with a record of 3-5.

Baba Booey: 56.8
Rocky Rocks: 43.2

Close early, the cream eventually rose to the top as Baba Booey erased Rocky Rocks in Week 8, the league-best Booeys improving to 6-2 for the season. With the best H2H record in the league, GM Carling sits comfortably atop the Grimson division; one game better than two teams. In defeat the Rocks tumbled to 2-6, numbers that place the struggling third year franchise three full games behind the Domi division leader.

Lumberjacks: 61.1
Cherry Pickers: 49.1

After generating a substantial 18.4 point lead, the Lumberjacks were subjected to a storm of points from their opponent, the Cherry Pickers drawing to within 6.2 before fading. With the tighter than expected win, the Jacks improve to 5-3 on the year; a record that leaves the team one game behind the Grimson division leader. Despite their improved play down the stretch, the Pickers were strapped with a loss, the 3rd place overall squad still perched atop the Probert division, tied with the Bluliners.

Bluliners: 48.2
SC Cobras: 42.5

The SC Cobras appeared to be tracking toward a come-from-behind win, skating to within 3.0 points after trailing early. The Cobras ran out of gas just short of the finish line, losing to the Bluliners by 5.7. With the loss, the Cobras are 5-3 on the year; the team still the best of the Domi division, their lead still solid at two games. By upsetting their Week 8 opponent, the Bluliners returned to the top of the Probert division, the Original Six franchise sporting a commendable record of 5-3.

Polar Bears: 59.7
Central Red Army: 26.7

The Central Red Army were unable to overcome their horrific start (and finish) to the week, the team falling to the Polar Bears by 33.0. In defeat, the Army’s H2H record took another hit, the worst team of Week 8 skating into Week 9 with a mark of 3-5. The Polar Bears improved to 4-4 with the resounding win, GM Elya still lodged in the Grimson basement, though only two games behind the division-leading Booeys.

WEEK 9
Misconducts v. Bluliners
Wild Ducks v. Central Red Army
Polar Bears v. SC Cobras
Cherry Pickers v. Boulder Flyers
Ice Hogs v. Baba Booey
Rocky Rocks v. Lumberjacks
