The Lumberjacks posted double-digits for the first time this week, Kasperi Kapanen depositing two goals and 4.0 of his team’s 10.3 points - the Jacks maintaining their still-tight lead over the Cherry Pickers, now 4.3 points with only Friday and the weekend remaining in this heated semifinal duel.

Lumberjacks: 29.3­
The Lumberjacks and Cherry Pickers spent the first three days of the week prancing around the ring; sizing each other up. The gloves have finally come off as both teams posted 10.0+ points on Thursday; both the Jacks and Pickers with a still-wide path to the H2H championship match and its $120.00 prize.

Wild Ducks: 43.5
Central Red Army: 26.9­
“Okay, we’re not done yet,” said a relieved GM Buker after his Central Red Army outpointed the Wild Ducks 8.0 to 4.3 on an always-dangerous Connor McDavid-dressed Thursday, the Army still with a full plate however as they trail the Ducks by 16.6 points ahead of a tepid four-game Friday.



One day after moving from 6th place to 4th place, the Ice Hogs have landed in the money; the Hogs using Andrei Vasilevskiy’s NHL-best 30th win of the season - and a 3.0 point assist - to claim 3rd place overall, the perky pigs now just 15.3 points in rear of the 1st place and the coveted FHL Cup.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
The Cherry Pickers have a bit more breathing room after Thursday, outscoring the Wild Ducks 10.0 to 4.3; the 1st place Pickers now sitting on an 11.1 point cushion. In addition to the Ducks and Ice Hogs, three other teams are within striking distance of the FHL Cup; the SC Cobras (18.0), Lumberjacks (23.1) and Rocky Rocks (28.2) all with a shot at the 2020-21 championship and its $600 haul.

The Bout for the Money
The SC Cobras netted only 4.0 points and were subsequently shoved out of the money, the Cobras now trailing the money-grubbing Hogs by 3.3 points. The Jacks and Rocks (5.0 points on Thursday) remain money-worthy while the Misconducts and Central Red Army have both been listed as a “long shots” - the Misconducts currently 36.9 points in back of the loot; the Army trailing 3rd place by 50.6 points.

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
Yesterday GM Carling saw his team mentioned in the same sentence as the Laughing Bag. “Fuck that,” said the Baba Booey boss, his team exploding for a league-best 16.0 points; the Booeys now 33.1 points clear of the Bag. GM Elya apparently had the same thought, his Polar Bears collecting 12.0 points on Thursday; the Bears drawing to within 2.2 points of ground level.
