| For the first time in the 28-year history of the league, an FHL official had to talk one of it’s team owners down from the ledge - a distraught GM Murphy taking to the ledge upon hearing two players he had benched (Zibanejad and Buchnevich) combined for 28.0 points; Murphy and his SC Cobras, reportedly, now resting comfortably at the FHL Psychiatry and Counseling Center.Misconducts: 29.0 SC Cobras: 35.2 Wednesday wasn’t all bad news for the SC Cobras as they still somehow posted the league's best score; Drew Doughty (1g, 1a) guiding the Cobras to a strong 15.2 point performance. The Misconducts however weren’t far behind as defenseman Tyson Barrie (4a, 9pts) powered his team to a 15.0 point showing, the Cobras lead still slim at 6.2. Cherry Pickers: 33.4 Bluliners: 20.7Defenseman Darnell Nurse (1g, 1a) provided the Cherry Pickers with 6.0 of the team’s 15.0 points, the second place Pickers - by keeping pace with the first place Misconducts - extending their lead over the slowly-getting-buried Bluliners. Lumberjacks: 31.1 Baba Booey: 22.9On the strength of a 7.9 point evening the Lumberjacks further padded their cushion - the Jacks now leading the Wednesday-quiet Booey’s (4.0 points) by 8.2 points ahead of a stiff ten-game Thursday. Boulder Flyers: 40.3 Rocky Rocks: 24.0 It took three days but Rocky Rocks finally got the better of the Boulder Flyers (6.0 points), an 8.0 point outing drawing the resilient Rocks to within 16.3 points of their quick-out-of-the-gate, upset-minded, last place opponent. Wild Ducks: 27.4 Polar Bears: 18.0 After collecting a Wednesday-worst 4.0 points, the Polar Bears find themselves just 17.0 steps from the basement door. The Wild Ducks have been taking advantage of GM Elya’s woes - Evander Kane (1g, 2a) netting 5.0 of his team’s 11.0 points, the Ducks now 9.4 points better than the prematurely-hibernating Bears. Ice Hogs: 20.7 Central Red Army: 21.0 After plodding their way through the first two days of the week, both teams erupted on Wednesday - the Ice Hogs and Connor Hellebuyck (33 save win) carding 12.3 points while Shea Theodore (1g, 1a) and the Central Red Army countered with 12.0. All told, this Yankee division clash remains extremely close, the Army’s lead just 0.3 points. LINK: Standings |
