Trailing the Bluliners by 13.5 points, David Pastrnak (3g), Blake Wheeler (3a), Neal Pionk (1g) and Elias Pettersson (2g) erupted for a combined 20.0 points; Baba Booey and their Sunday best absolutely stunning the heavily-favored Bluliners to claim a dramatic, hugely-needed, come-from-behind win.Baba Booey: 60.7
Bluliners: 54.2
Baba Booey is once again part of the postseason conversation, the resilient squad improving to 2-4 with the truly pivotal victory; the Booey’s now trailing the second and final postseason spot by only two games. The Bluliners had already penciled in a win as they laced their skates for Sunday. Instead of winning, the team was force-fed just their second loss of the season, GM Hamilton’s stuffed Canuck division team, 4-2, now two full games behind their former first place home.
Lumberjacks: 64.9
Rocky Rocks: 39.5The Lumberjacks finished as the best team of the week; GM Recoskie the first team owner to be awarded (2) best-week $10.00 bonuses. The large Week 6 number also resulted in a much-needed win, the Jacks improving to 3-3 for the season; the Canuck division team just one game behind the playoffs. Rocky Rocks picked a bad week to engage the Lumberjacks, the rolled Rocks, 3-3, now seated three games behind the Canuck division leader.
SC Cobras: 49.5
Central Red Army: 48.9
The Central Red Army jumped on John Carlson’s back (1g, 1a) and galloped to a strong 12.0 point Sunday. The number however dumped the Army 0.6 points shy of a comeback win, the SC Cobras netting 3.0 Sunday points - just enough to repel the Army and secure their all-important second win of the season; the Cobras still in the playoff hunt, their record now 2-4. In disappointing defeat, the Army fell to 3-3; one game behind the best of the Yankee.
Cherry Pickers: 39.0
Boulder Flyers: 26.2
The two began play as the only undefeated and the only winless teams in the league. The two teams departed with the exact same credentials; the Cherry Pickers improving to 6-0 with the comprehensive win; the Boulder Flyers tumbling to 0-6 with the difficult to comprehend loss. By keeping their perfect record intact - for the first time this year - the penthouse Pickers have a two game Canuck division lead. Far from the penthouse, the under-the-overpass Boulder Flyers are six games back.
Wild Ducks: 35.0
Ice Hogs: 27.0
T.J. Oshie (2g, 1a) collected 7.0 Sunday points, and in doing so, ended any chance the Ice Hogs had of coming from behind, the were-wavering Wild Ducks rallying in the final days of the week to upend the compliant Ice Hogs. With the victory, the Ducks improved to 4-2 - the team still seated, with the Misconducts, atop the very competitive Yankee division. The Ice Hogs slumped to 3-3, GM Henry’s squad dispatched from first place to third place in the Yankee; though just one game in back of the division leaders.
Misconducts: 47.3
Polar Bears: 40.1The Misconducts defeated the Polar Bears going away - rubbing salt into their opponent’s wound with a strong 7.0 point Sunday, GM Smalley’s second place (overall) squad improving to 4-2; tied for the Yankee division lead. Despite their lofty position in the overall standings, the third place Polar Bears are struggling to unearth H2H wins, the Bears a disappointing 2-4; a subpar record that leaves the FHL Cup contender outside of the postseason picture.
