Kyle Connor deposited two goals on Wednesday - his 37th and 38th - as the Boulder Flyers moved further ahead of their sputtering opponent, the Flyers now leading the Cherry Pickers by 15.6 points with four days remaining in the week.

First Round, Playoffs

Boulder Flyers: 27.2
Cherry Pickers: 11.6­
The last time the Boulder Flyers and Cherry Pickers met, the Flyers led by 19.9 points four days into the week. The Pickers would score 39.7 points over the next three days, snatching victory from defeat. Still emotionally scarred from that loss, the Flyers are taking nothing for granted - GM Morgan bringing seven players (and a rabbit’s foot) to the rink on Thursday.

Badger Bob: 12.6
Central Red Army: 15.2­
With the opening round of the playoffs entering Day 4, many thought, by now, the white-hot Central Red Army would be sitting on double-digit lead. Instead, the Army’s advantage is precarious at best, Badger Bob hanging tough, trailing the cooling Army by just 2.6.

Misconducts: 6.0
SC Cobras: 16.0­
With only 6.0 points through the first three days of the week, the situation is looking mighty grim for the defending H2H champion. There was some good news however as the SC Cobras only potted 2.0 points on Wednesday, the Misconducts - now in 11th place overall - still with a shot as they lace their skates in preparation for a hefty ten-game Thursday.



The Ice Hogs powered their way to within 39.4 points of first place - defenseman Alex Pietrangelo (2g) ripping 9.0 of his team’s Wednesday-best 14.0 points - the Hogs, trailing by 77.1 points just seven days ago - now with a bead on the sitting Ducks.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
GM Collard doesn’t like to look over his shoulder, but that’s exactly what the Wild Ducks boss was doing on Thursday morning, his once formidable lead formidable no more - the Ducks outpointed 14.0 to 1.0 on Wednesday. The SC Cobras weren’t able to take advantage of the misfiring Ducks, the team still a distant 57.7 points in back of first place. The Boulder Flyers skated to within a doable distance, a 9.6 point showing placing the Flyers 66.4 points behind what would be their fourth FHL championship.

The Bout for the Money
The Ice Hogs now have a firm grasp of the $250.00 second place prize, the Hogs currently 18.3 points better than the third place SC Cobras. The Boulder Flyers are now sniffing green, the fourth place team moving to within 8.7 points of third place money. In fifth place, the Central Red Army trail $150.00 by 49.7 points.

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
Soon after yesterday’s news was posted, the FHL mailroom was flooded with emails - all of which corrected the story that was posted yesterday. Apparently, the Titanic sunk, the Hindenburg crashed and OJ Simpson is not a nice dude. As such, we at the FHL News apologize for the error - that is, alluding to the notion that the Polar Bears could in fact be evacuated from the basement. As it turns out, they cannot.
