Rocky Rocks and their postseason hopes took one on the chin in Week 8, the first year franchise in danger of missing the playoffs after they were leveled by the Vegas Vipers, the Rocks beginning play in Week 9 with a league-worst record of 2-6.Vegas Vipers: 51.2
Rocky Rocks: 46.8
With 14 weeks remaining in the H2H regular season there is still time for Rocky Rocks to turn things around - but that time is now, the weak-kneed franchise nearing desperation-mode as they currently stand at the very back of the line leading to the playoffs. It was a huge win for the Vegas Vipers as they improved to 3-5 on the year. While the Grimson division title remains a long shot, the Vipers chances of qualifying for the seven-team playoffs, once a pipe dream, is no longer a pipe dream.
Ice Hogs: 49.0
Boulder Flyers: 40.3The battle for the outright Probert division lead was claimed by the Ice Hogs, GM Henry now sitting alone atop the Probert with the pivotal victory, their record now well on the plus side at 5-3. The Boulder Flyers are officially “average” after falling to the Ice Hogs, the Probert-residing team stumbling to 4-4 on the year; a record that places the bruised birds one game behind their Week 8 nemesis.
Badger Bob: 56.8
Cherry Pickers: 50.4The Cherry Pickers played extremely well but they were still saddled with a loss, the team falling to 3-5 with the difficult defeat; the Pick trailing the Probert-best Ice Hogs by two games. One week after absorbing their first loss of the season, Badger Bob made a return trip to the winner’s circle, the Bobs and their week-best score now two games better than their closest Grimson division rival.
Central Red Army: 42.4
Polar Bears: 35.9
Hoping to have something to write home about at the conclusion of the week, the Polar Bears have nothing to write home about at the conclusion of the week; the battered Bears, 3-5, firmly planted in the Grimson division cellar. The Central Red Army weren’t especially good in Week 8 but they were good enough, the Army improving to 4-4 with the “thank you” win - the squadron remaining one game behind the Domi division leader.
Misconducts: 38.4
Wild Ducks: 31.7
Once the cream of the crop, the Wild Ducks have fallen on hard times, a week-worst score dropping the drooping Ducks a full two games behind the Domi division leader; the Ducks H2H record still enviable however at 5-3. The Misconducts were one of the worst teams in Week 8 - but they still skated away with a victory, the fortunate franchise improving to 5-3 on the year; a record that places GM Smalley at the top of the Domi, one game better than the Army.
Bluliners: 51.3
SC Cobras: 44.5
One of four teams to eclipse the 50.0 point barrier, the Bluliners also eclipsed the SC Cobras, GM Hamilton’s squad improving to 4-4 on the year; a record that leaves the Original Six franchise one game behind the Probert-leading Ice Hogs. By falling to the Bluliners, the SC Cobras saw their record slip to 3-5, the venomless snakes now two games behind the Domi division-leading Misconducts.
