WEEK 7 (thru Saturday) Empty

WEEK 7 (thru Saturday) Ra5sAPn
Jack Eichel was the jack of only one trade on Saturday - goal scoring - the late 2nd round draft pick recording his first career 4-goal game; Eichel contributing 14.0 of the Bluliners season-best 34.0 points - the trailing-all-week Bluliners now leading the stunned “I want my mommy” Boulder Flyers by 1.4 points.

Boulder Flyers: 59.1
Bluliners: 60.5

The Boulder Flyers led by 17.0 points on Tuesday but the Bluliners persisted, outpointing their opponent every day since. Intent on ending their six-match losing skid to their longtime rival, the Bluliners will bring three players to the rink on the final day of the week: Patrick Kane, Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart. The Boulder Flyers will counter with a JV version of the Bluliners trio; Alex DeBrincat, Victor Olofsson and Rasmus Dahlin given the unenviable job of breaching the Bluliners week-best fort.

Badger Bob: 48.6
Wild Ducks: 51.8

Badger Bob was on the verge of catching and passing the Wild Ducks before Roman Josi arrived on the scene; the Ducks defender netting two goals and 9.0 points to keep the undefeated Bobs at bay. Trailing by 3.2 points with only two games remaining in the week - and with their undefeated record on the line - the Bobs will dress Elias Lindholm and Mark Giordano. The Ducks will counter with three; Johnny Gaudreau, Erik Gustafsson and Corey Crawford all assigned one job: tag Badger Bob with their first loss of the season.

Polar Bears: 39.6
Vegas Vipers: 42.6

With 15 games contested on Saturday, it was difficult not to skate away with a zamboniload of points. Points were everywhere. Mention that to the Polar Bears and you’ll get nothing but a snarl (and maybe a clawed paw upside the head) the Bears netting just 4.0 points - 11 of their active players posting a bagel. As a result, the Bears were ripe for the picking. Cue the Vegas Vipers. Led by the play of defenseman Cale Makar (4 assists, 9.0 points), the Vipers completely erased their 11.0 point deficit; a strong 18.0 point showing providing the Vipe with a 3.0 point lead and likely, their second victory of the season.

Central Red Army: 37.9
Cherry Pickers: 44.8

Sitting at his desk - writing a “Hi everyone, I’m gonna win another match” letter to his family, GM Buker was tapped on the shoulder and told, “hang on, you better look at this.”  “This” was the Cherry Pickers ripping an unexpected 23.0 points. Led by the elite game of defenseman Victor Hedman (1g, 1a, 6.0 pts), the Pickers climbed out of a deep 8.1 point hole - the Pick now on course to win their 3rd match of the season, the amped-up team leading the overwhelmed Army by 6.9 points.

SC Cobras: 51.0
Rocky Rocks: 52.7

Despite Keith Yandle (3a) netting 6.0 points, the SC Cobras 4.0 point lead was dissolved in a glass filled with Rocky Rocks, the Rocks - backed by a John Gibson 37 save win - netting a concrete 20.7 points, the first year franchise now leading this pivotal Domi division battle by 1.7 points. There is still hope for the Cobras however, the team carting Marc-Andre Fleury and Jeff Skinner to the final day of the week. Rocky Rocks will only have one man stationed on the Sunday front line; Sean Monahan assigned the job of protecting his team’s paper-thin lead.

Ice Hogs: 40.1
Misconducts: 35.9

Unlike most weeks, every single match was competitive - including this non-divisional war between the Ice Hogs and Misconducts. GM Henry however finally found the handle needed to carry his team to the Week 7 Promised Land, the Hogs carding 12.1 points on Saturday; the number overshadowing the light 9.5 point effort of the Misconducts. With no one skating on Sunday, the Misconducts are defenseless, the best team of the Domi division just hours away from being nailed, officially, with their 3rd loss of the season.
