WEEK 5 (thru Wednesday)

Riding the backs of Ondrej Palat (2g, 1a) and Jonathan Huberdeau (2g), the Vegas Vipers escaped from the FHL basement on Wednesday. The Vipers - shackled in the cellar since October 3rd - posted a league-best 21.1 points, the moss-covered team vaulting from 12th place to 9th place in the overall standings.

Bluliners: 11.0
Vegas Vipers: 38.1
The acquisition of their first victory of the season seems inevitable after the Wednesday numbers were totaled, the Vegas Vipers and their week-best score leading the bamboozled Bluliners by 27.1 points. The FHL hasn’t summoned the pot-bellied lass just yet, but the Fat Lady has been placed on high-alert.

Wild Ducks: 35.0
Boulder Flyers: 20.9­
The Boulder Flyers were slightly better than the Wild Ducks on Day 3, but the fizzling Flyers will have to play better if they want to reel-in the fast-waddling Ducks, GM Morgan’s hole still plenty deep at 14.1 points.

Rocky Rocks: 34.3
Central Red Army: 28.5­
Brock Boeser (3g, 1a) guided his team to a strong 14.7 point showing but Rocky Rocks still lost ground to their played-better opponent, Leon Draisaitl (2g, 1a) and his Central Red Army team potting 18.2 points in all, the Rocks lead reduced to 5.8.

Ice Hogs: 25.7
SC Cobras: 18.0­
Alex Pietrangelo (1g, 1a) was in scoring-mode on Wednesday - the Ice Hogs defender lifting his team to a 9.0 point evening; the Hogs now 7.7 points better than the SC Cobras with 4 days remaining in the week.

Misconducts: 20.8
Badger Bob: 18.3­
This battle of undefeated teams is turning into a pitching duel as both the Misconducts and Badger Bob were relatively quiet on Wednesday; the Misconducts now leading by 2.5 points heading into a sparse 2-game Thursday.

Polar Bears: 13.2
Cherry Pickers: 18.1
The Polar Bears didn’t play poorly but they remain lodged in the basement, the team - after the Vegas Vipers escape - now the sole occupant of the FHL cellar. GM Recoskie meanwhile was able to retain most of his lead, Elias Pettersson (1g, 3a) and his Cherry Pickers currently 4.9 points better than the basemented Bears.
