| Defenseman Roman Josi (2g) was at his goal-scoring best on Tuesday, the early second round draft pick netting 9.0 of his team’s 22.0 points, the fast-waddling Wild Ducks now standing on the front porch of the first place SC Cobras.Wild Ducks: 24.0 Bluliners: 12.5 Despite not receiving a single point from the goaltending position, the Wild Ducks continue to wreak havoc around the FHL, a league-best Tuesday placing GM Collard just 10.0 points behind the first place SC Cobras and a stiff 11.5 points in front of their Week 2 opponent. Badger Bob: 20.2 Ice Hogs: 12.0 Lead by the play of Bostonians Brad Marchand (2g, 1a, 7pts) and David Pastrnak (1g, 2a, 5pts), Badger Bob doubled-up the Ice Hogs 14.0 points to 7.0, GM Chester’s 4th place squad now leading this non-divisional rumble by 8.2. Vegas Vipers: 13.0 Boulder Flyers: 9.7Dr. FHL finally found a pulse in the Vegas Vipers, the once-flatlining squad erupting for 12.0 points on Tuesday; Mark Stone (1g, 1a) drawing the last place Vipers to within 10.1 points of ground level, their lead over the Boulder Flyers now 3.3 points. SC Cobras: 19.3 Central Red Army: 16.1Goaltender Pekka Rinne contributed 3.3 of his team’s 16.3 points, the first place SC Cobras showing no signs of slowing down. The snakes however weren’t able to shake the Central Red Army, GM Buker’s troops netting 16.1 of their own, their deficit still manageable at 3.2. Misconducts: 18.9 Polar Bears: 11.0 The Misconducts were the second best Tuesday team, defensemen Brent Burns (1g, 1a, 6pts) and John Carlson (1g, 1a, 6pts) guiding the blueline-heavy squad to a commendable 17.9 point showing, GM Smalley’s team now leading the listing Polar Bears by 7.9. Cherry Pickers: 6.0 Rocky Rocks: 9.1 The Cherry Pickers were picking themselves up from the canvas after Rocky delivered the first punch of the match, a stiff 9.1 points to the chin flooring the first year franchise. Despite the early setback, GM Recoskie remains in contention for a win, the Pickers trailing by just 3.1 points heading into Round 3 of the scheduled seven round bout. LINK: Standings |

| BIG head-to-head matchup in Week 2 between newcomer franchises, Rocky Rocks and Cherry Pickers. On par with NHL in 1970-71 when Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks began play. Also 1972-73 when New York Islanders and Atlanta Flames began play. And also 1974-75 when Washington Capitals and Kansas City Scouts began play. (Atlanta Flames are now Calgary Flames. And Kansas City Scouts are now New Jersey Devils. There was a stop in between in Denver, when the team was known as the Colorado Rockies and actually made the playoffs once.) Maybe Rocky Rocks comes up with third jersey that is a tip of helmet to NHL history that includes old Rockies logo? Meanwhile, B2 believes Cherry Pickers logo should be sent to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto for instant inclusion. GREAT WORK I understand by Paul, who also designed B2 logo when team entered FHL. Cherry Pickers logo reminds me of San Jose Sharks logo, with shark biting hockey stick. B2 also believes legendary coach turned commentator Don Cherry would give "thumbs up" to Cherry Pickers logo. |
