| Subject: WEEK 20 (thru Monday) Tue Feb 19, 2019 1:52 pm | |
| If you’re in need of a H2H win, Week 20 doesn’t appear to be a good occasion to play the Ice Hogs - the diminutive Alex DeBrinicat (3g, 2a, 15.0 pts) guiding his team to a monstrous 26.9 point opener, the Hogs barrelling their way into 4th place overall, the two-time champion now just 0.6 steps from the money.Polar Bears: 24.0 Ice Hogs: 26.9 While it may not be a good week to play the Ice Hogs, it sure as hell doesn’t look like a good week to play the Polar Bears either - this already smoking-hot match being contested with a lot on the line; the needa-win Polar Bears, 9-10, sitting just inside the playoff picture while the Ice Hogs, 11-8, still have their eyes glued to the Probert division crown. Wild Ducks: 14.0 Ice Cats: 1.0 On paper this looks like an easy match to predict as the best team in the league takes on a team that hasn’t made a roster move since November. That said, the Ice Cats - without GM Cutshall’s knowledge - has been leaving better, more-engaged teams in their wake, the giant-killer kittens hoping to keep their faint playoff hopes alive with an upset win. Boulder Flyers: 1.0 Misconducts: 12.0 Despite their recent struggles the Boulder Flyers, 12-7, are still keen on winning their division and possibly grabbing a first round playoff bye (a guy can dream can't he). To accomplish that, the Flyers have no choice but to defeat the Misconducts; a somewhat desperate 10-9 squad that needs a win to lock a spot in the postseason. Badger Bob: 3.3 SC Cobras: 14.0Of all the teams that can’t afford to lose, the SC Cobras really can’t afford to lose, the 9-10 squad currently holding the final playoff ticket - a ticket that would be snatched from their hands if they take a tumble in Week 20. With no chance of qualifying for the postseason, Badger Bob again takes on the role of spoiler, the Bobs dragging a very heavy 6-13 record to this titanic tussle. Central Red Army: 6.0 Vegas Vipers: 9.0For the Vegas Vipers, 7-11-1 to qualify for the postseason they’ll have to win their final three matches; the teams just in front of them will all have to lose and possibly, the playoff bracket manager may have to make a mistake when sorting the seedings. The Central Red Army’s position is far more comfortable - the 12-7 squad with the inside track to the Domi division title, leading by 2 games with only 3 weeks remaining in the H2H regular season. Bluliners: 9.7 Concussion Junction: 3.0 The Bluliners absolutely have to win this match - the 8-10-1 squad currently seeded 8th overall - a seeding that would place GM Hamilton on the first tee at the FHL golf course, not in the 7-team mix of the playoffs. Concussion Junction meanwhile are gasping for playoff air, the 8-11 squad almost certain to be in the first golfing foursome come Week 23. LINK: Standings |
