WEEK 1 (FINAL) Empty
PostSubject: WEEK 1 (FINAL)   WEEK 1 (FINAL) EmptyMon Oct 08, 2018 10:56 am

The season is only five days old and already the Polar Bears find themselves in a surprisingly deep hole, a paltry 11.3 point effort dropping the 2015-16 FHL Cup champion a distant 45.5 points back.

Wild Ducks: 43.6
Polar Bears: 11.3

Patrick Kane and his two goal Sunday put a “Mission Accomplished” stamp on Week 1, the Wild Ducks coasting to their first victory of the season, the team tied for the Grimson division lead. Overall the Ducks find themselves in 5th place, just 13.2 points behind the league leader. The Polar Bears stumbled (and fell) out of the gate, the 0-1 team with plenty of work to do as they skate into a Week 2 match with the Central Red Army.

Vegas Vipers: 56.8
Badger Bob: 26.3
Duncan Keith (3a) pocketed 6.0 points on Sunday to put a lid on this match, the first place Vegas Vipers defeating the defending FHL Cup Champion by a stiff 30.5 points. The Vipers are now 1-0, sitting with the Ducks on top of the Grimson division. With a record of 0-1, the Bobs find themselves one game back in the Grimson; the team seated in 9th place overall.

Boulder Flyers: 52.9
Concussion Junction: 43.7

A notoriously poor performing H2H team, the Boulder Flyers find themselves in unfamiliar territory, the veteran franchise starting the season 1-0 for the first time since the Nixon administration. Concussion Junction was better than six other teams but they weren’t able to keep pace with the Matthews-fueled Flyers, GM Brendan’s squad landing in 4th place, 13.1 points in rear of the 1st place Vipers.

Central Red Army: 36.2
Bluliners: 25.6

Neither team was able to locate points on the final day of the week, as such the Central Red Army’s 10.6 lead proved good enough, the 1-0 team moving to the top of the Domi division. Overall GM Buker’s Army remain camped in 6th place. The Bluliners had a mostly forgettable start to the season, the four-time champion parked in 10th place, their 0-1 mark dropping them a game behind two Probert division teams.

Misconducts: 30.0
SC Cobras: 25.4
Neither the Misconducts or SC Cobras were especially good, but the Misconducts were gooder, GM Smalley’s 30.0 point effort enough to secure the win. The Cup-chase standings have the Misconducts in 8th place, 26.8 points back. After one week the SC Cobras find themselves in familiar territory - near or at the bottom of the barrel. The 11th place snakes will shimmy into Week 2 with an 0-1 record and an overall deficit of 31.4 points.

Ice Hogs: 49.1
Ice Cats: 32.4
Morgan Rielly and his 9.0 points (1g, 2a) were more than enough to deflect the Ice Cats and John Tavares’ 9.0 point hat trick, the Hogs commandeering 3rd place overall, just 7.7 points from the top. The Ice Cats and their 0-1 record now trail the Probert-leading Hogs and Flyers by one game; the overall standings placing the Cats in 7th place.

Polar Bears v. Central Red Army
Bluliners v. SC Cobras
Wild Ducks v. Misconducts
Vegas Vipers v. Concussion Junction
Boulder Flyers v. Ice Hogs
Ice Cats v. Badger Bob
