Hello, all. As you know, NEVER a shortage of content to discuss here in Chester's Corner. Have a timely topic that I'll toss out later this week for discussion. But today, introducing a new feature: brainteaser  confused . Going to share some of my hockey knowledge of the past by querying.

Could be in a number of forms. For example, could be a trivia question. Or for this one, I'm going to provide clue(s) and you come up with guess(es).

If you have correct answer(s), KUDOS. I likely will have to come up with some kind of reward system.

For example, making it public info that Ice Hogs Dynasty earned two BIG gold stars for his posts on the 1997 Stanley Cup playoffs.

If you don't know brainteaser answer, no worries. As said, we make learning fun here in Chester's Corner.

For this feature of Chester's Corner, PLEASE EMAIL YOUR GUESSES to me at johnchester6@yahoo.com. This way, each GM can take best shot.

So for our debut brainteaser, let's begin close to home with the team that most GMs care about -- the Detroit Red Wings -- and the one Badger Bob cares about -- the Pittsburgh Penguins.

I am thinking of two goaltenders who broke into the NHL with the RED WINGS and then moved to the PENGUINS.

One was among the LAST goaltenders to play WITHOUT A MASK.

The other is still active in the NHL in an executive position with a team.

Back then, neither the Red Wings or Penguins were strong. So going from Detroit to Pittsburgh best described as a lateral move.

If more clues are needed, I can shed some more light. But let's start with this and see how you do.

EMAIL GUESSES TO ME AT johnchester6@yahoo.com. Put trivia answers 1 in message field in case ends up in spam folder. You have 24 hours. Good luck!

I'll post correct answers and recognize those who have answered correctly. And hopefully by then I'll have mastered how to add a photo of each goaltender in the post revealing the correct answers.

Badger Bob over and out. Remember, IT'S A GREAT DAY FOR HOCKEY  sunny and in this case, hockey brainteaser.

This was an INTERESTING exercise. I commend two GMs for their contrbutions. In the process, one of those GMs helped me learn something! I always am glad to learn.

The two goaltenders I was thinking of:

Andy Brown was the last pro goaltender to play in a game without a mask.

Jim Rutherford is currently, sadly according to Badger Bob, the general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Ice Hogs Dynasty nailed Andy Brown, but no go on Rutherford. GOOD EFFORT by Ice Hogs Dynasty.

Also a GOOD EFFORT by Bluliners, who also gets special addendum recognition.

Bluliners nailed Rutherford, but no go on Brown.

HOWEVER, Bluliners came up with ANOTHER GOALTENDER who met the criteria, broke into the NHL with the Red Wings and then moved to the Penguins. That goaltender the late ROY EDWARDS.

Check out the complete list of teams which Edwards played, minors and NHL.

Man this guy wore a lot of uniforms and logged a lot of miles.

To be frank, I knew of Edwards, but did NOT know he fit the criteria for the question. So KUDOS to Bluliners for bringing the spotlight onto the late Roy Edwards as well.

GMs, sorry for the long URLs. Watching the debate since NO Badger Bob players are in action tonight.
