WEEK 17 (thru Wednesday) MTHcazt
WEEK 17 (thru Wednesday) MJYu6DS
The Ice Hog faithful couldn’t contain their excitement as their team roared into 1st place on Wednesday - Tomas Hertl (2g, 1a) and Oliver Bjorkstrand (2g, 1a) combining for 14.0 of the team’s league-best 26.4 points, the Ice Hogs and their crazed fans on the fast track to what would be their 3rd FHL Cup championship.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
The Ice Hogs were very good on Wednesday, but it was their performance combined with the other contenders playing poorly that led to the Hogs rapid ascent - the now-in 2nd place Cherry Pickers (11.4 points behind the Hogs) posting just 5.0 points, the Lumberjacks, only 1.0, and Rocky Rocks, a Cup-crushing 0.0 points. The Wild Ducks were the only contender, other than the Hogs, to reach double-digits (10.0 points), the Ducks now seated in 3rd place overall, 17.7 points back.

The Bout for the Money
The fight for the money is as good as ever - only now the teams are battling with a not-so-good view of 1st place. The Cherry Pickers - the league-leader since March 18th, a total of 49 days - are trying to get accustomed to their not-so-cozy 2nd place digs; the Pickers currently 6.3 points better than the 3rd place Wild Ducks. The Lumberjacks, in 4th place, sit 7.7 points in back of the money; Rocky Rocks - still with a very good chance of finishing with cash-in-hand - trailing 3rd place by 10.2 points. In 6th place overall, the SC Cobras are now 21.8 points behind the money after a forgettable 2.7 point Wednesday.

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
There wasn’t much movement as the Boulder Flyers posted 4.0 points; the Polar Bears, just 4.9; the Bears sitting in a massive 40.1 point hole with now, only 13 days remaining in the 2020-21 FHL season.

WEEK 17 (thru Wednesday) 7lwykpp
Acquired in a Week 8 trade, Evander Kane has been solid gold for the Wild Ducks - the explosive left wing netting another 4.0 points (three assists) on Wednesday; the Ducks now 2.5 points better than the Lumberjacks with four days remaining in the too-close-to-call H2H Championship match.

Championship Match

Lumberjacks: 31.0
Wild Ducks: 33.5

The Lumberjacks surrendered the lead after getting schooled on Wednesday, 10.0 points to 1.0;  GM Recoskie hoping for much, much, much better as his team prepares for an unusually light six-game Thursday.

Consolation Match

Cherry Pickers: 27.0
Central Red Army: 35.6

The Central Red Army collected 7.0 points as they padded their advantage slighly, the Army now leading the fishtailing Canuck division champion by 8.6 points.
