Things are looking up for Erik Karlsson. His FHL stock recently downgraded from “elite” to “serviceable,” the one-time, go-to, perennial all-star defenseman has netted points in three of his past four games - Karlsson’s improving game pacing the Wild Ducks 14.0 point attack; the defending FHL Cup champion now only 30.5 points off the lead.

Central Red Army: 36.0
Wild Ducks: 36.2­
The Wild Ducks were the best Friday team but the Central Red Army wasn’t far off the pace, a Kirill Kaprizov hat trick keeping GM Buker and his troops in the thick of this heated Yankee division clash, the Ducks lead just 0.2 points with two days remaining in the week.

Misconducts: 69.3
Ice Hogs: 38.6­
The Misconducts once again outperformed the Ice Hogs, GM Smalley’s league-best squad outscoring their overwhelmed opponent 10.0 to 7.0. As such, the silky-smooth yet highly-aggravating voice of the Fat Lady is needed once again, the Misconducts now leading this lopsided tilt by 30.7.

Baba Booey: 22.1
Rocky Rocks: 44.0
The Fat Lady may be performing double-duty in Week 9 as Rocky Rocks has nearly doubled the score of Baba Booey - an 8.3 point outing (the Booey’s netted naught) providing the rapidly-rolling Rocks with a 21.9 point lead.

Cherry Pickers: 33.9
Lumberjacks: 35.5
The Lumberjacks and Cherry Pickers fought to a virtual draw on Friday - the Jacks carding 8.0 points while the Cherry Pickers unearthed 9.0; the Pickers skating to within 1.6 points in advance of a massive 12-game Saturday.
Note: The Lumberjacks score reflects a reduction of 3.3 points (correction of Thursday scoring error).

Boulder Flyers: 26.0
Bluliners: 27.8­
The Bluliners recorded 8.5 points. Not great but good enough to take a seat in front of the Boulder Flyers and their bony 3.0 point effort, GM Hamilton’s third place squad now leading the last place Flyers by 1.8.

Polar Bears: 20.8
SC Cobras: 28.0­
“The worst score of the week” is not the designation GM Elya was hoping for as he began play in Week 9. But that’s where the Polar Bears find themselves “thru Friday,” the Bears now seated in 10th place overall; 52.6 points back. The H2H picture also isn’t bright, the Bears, 2-6, trailing the SC Cobras by 7.2.
