WEEK 7 (thru Monday) Empty
PostSubject: WEEK 7 (thru Monday)   WEEK 7 (thru Monday) EmptyTue Feb 23, 2021 2:34 pm

WEEK 7 (thru Monday) S7tJt64
After-thought Jakob Chychrun - drafted late in the seventh round - is providing the Ice Hogs with reason to believe, the unheralded defenseman (1g, 1a) netting 6.0 of his team's Monday-best, 12.4 points.

Polar Bears: 9.0
Ice Hogs: 12.4

Despite their lofty lot in the overall standings, the unlucky Polar Bears bring a losing record to this Week 7 confrontation. The good news for the win-needy Bears, their opponent is a soft one - the Ice Hogs having spent most of the season in the lower half of the standings. The Hogs however are H2H dangerous (i.e. H2H lucky) - the team with a capable 3-3 mark despite being seated on the cloudy shores of the FHL basement.
Previous Meeting: Ice Hogs, 43.7, Polar Bears, 35.1

Baba Booey: 4.4
Cherry Pickers: 7.0

The explosive Baba Booey are traveling to Ontario - intent on handing the Cherry Pickers their very first loss of the season. With a record of 2-4, the Booey’s are also trying to make up for a slow start and can’t afford many more losses. There is no pressure on the Pickers (other than protecting their pristine record) the 6-0 team with one foot already in the postseason door.
Previous Meeting: Cherry Pickers, 65.1; Baba Booey, 47.9

Lumberjacks: 3.0
Boulder Flyers: 3.0

No team wants to be the first team to lose to the Boulder Flyers - and the Lumberjacks are facing that level of pressure in Week 7, the Jacks traveling to New Baltimore, Michigan to lock horns (if they can find horns on their opponent) with the Flyers. With a record of 3-3, the Lumberjacks sit outside of the playoffs and could really use a win. The Flyers, 0-6, are mathematically still alive - and it’s on that extremely small hook that they hang their Week 7 hat.
Previous Meeting: Lumberjacks, 67.9; Boulder Flyers, 34.3

Central Red Army: 9.5
Misconducts: 3.0

The Central Red Army bring a 3-3 record to this Yankee division duel, the team matching hockey wits with the division leader. A win could place the Army back in first place. A loss would knock the Army two games back. So yes, this match is pivotal. The Misconducts sit atop the division with a record of 4-2. Much like every match from here on in - as the season nears its midpoint - wins will do you good; loses will do you great, possibly irreparable harm.
Previous Meeting: Central Red Army, 61.0; Misconducts, 44.1

SC Cobras: 5.4
Wild Ducks: 11.5

An important match for the SC Cobras as the Yankee division cellar-dweller squares-off against the Yankee division leader. A win, of course, would help their postseason chances - but a loss to the division leader would be devastating. With a record of 4-2, the Wild Ducks are playoff pretty but their position is by no means stable. With only two teams from each division qualifying for the postseason, every match, including this one, is crucial.
Previous Meeting: Wild Ducks, 64.3; SC Cobras, 43.0

Rocky Rocks: 9.1
Bluliners: 10.8

Despite their struggles in the overall standings, the Bluliners started the season 4-0. Smoke? Mirrors? How did that happen? Regardless of how, the trend seems to have been reversed - the Bluliners having lost their past two matches. As such, Rocky Rocks may have picked the perfect time to engage the Bluliners, the need-a-win Rocks, 3-3, currently seated on the wrong side of the playoff fence.
Previous Meeting: Bluliners, 46.9; Rocky Rocks, 36.4
