| By dealing a spare 24 goal, 43 point forward to move up in the weekly waiver wire draft, the Vegas Vipers were able to get their hands on Jake Muzzin. The acquisition paid instant dividends as the Toronto defender torched the twine for 9.0 points (1g, 2a), the Vipers and their 20.4 point opener drawing to within 9.9 points of the 1st place Wild Ducks.SC Cobras: 0.0 Vegas Vipers: 20.4 With the postseason a long shot, the Vegas Vipers, 6-10-1, have turned the bulk of their attention to the overall standings and the FHL Cup. The SC Cobras, 8-9, are floating in an entirely different boat - the Cobras locked in a heated battle for the 7th and final playoff spot; a Week 18 win more a necessity than a luxury. Central Red Army: 3.8 Boulder Flyers: 8.0A battle of division leaders as the best of the Probert Boulder Flyers, 11-6, take on the best of the Domi Central Red Army, 10-7. While both teams are close to locking up a spot in the playoffs, the big prize on display here is the best record in the league and a first round playoff bye. Badger Bob: 3.0 Polar Bears: 7.1 The Polar Bears, 7-10, currently sit outside of the postseason. If they defeat Badger Bob they would likely become playoff worthy; a loss would place the Bears behind the postseason eight ball. Badger Bob, 6-11, has taken on the role of spoiler, last year's H2H runner-up already resigned to a postseason life on the links. Misconducts: 0.0 Ice Cats: 3.0Tied for the Domi division lead with a record of 10-7, the Misconducts are mostly concerned with who they will face in the playoffs - including the possibility of a 1st round bye. The Ice Cats sit at the bottom of their division with a record of 6-11. To qualify fo the postseason they’d have to win their final 5 matches and be served a miraculous helping of luck. Bluliners: 0.0 Ice Hogs: 4.0 With a record of 10-7, the playoff picture is looking rosy for the Ice Hogs. The Hogs however still need a couple of wins to lock a spot. The Bluliners, 8-8-1, sit just inside the frame of the playoff picture. Like a number of other teams, a win would solidify the their spot while a loss could bounce them from the postseason club. Wild Ducks: 3.0 Concussion Junction: 2.0 Tied for the best record in the league, the Wild Ducks, 11-6, are gunning for a first round playoff bye. Concussion Junction, 8-9, were bumped out of the postseason last week. To regain entry they’ll have to win - a daunting task as they butt heads with the best team in the league. LINK: Standings |
