PostSubject: WEEK 2 (thru Wednesday)   Thu Oct 11, 2018 10:27 am

Few things make a GM happier than a 2g, 3a, 13.0 point game — and that’s why GM Chester is smiling this morning, Jakub Voracek powering his previously dormant team to a 16.7 point Wednesday, Badger Bob moving to within 33.1 points of first place.

Badger Bob: 24.4
Ice Cats: 15.6

Trailing by 7.9 points after Tuesday, Badger Bob now finds themselves 8.8 points in front, the rejuvenated Bobs and their league-best effort now tracking toward their first win of the season.

Boulder Flyers: 23.0
Ice Hogs: 23.0

The battle for the Probert division lead is knotted at 23.0, the Ice Hogs netting 3.0 points on Day 3 while the Boulder Flyers swung and missed.

Vegas Vipers: 28.0
Concussion Junction: 10.0

Concussion Junction was the only team to secure points, GM Smalley’s squad pocketing 2.0, their situation still perilous with four days remaining in the week.

Bluliners: 27.1
SC Cobras: 9.0

The Bluliners took the day off allowing the SC Cobras to move 2.0 points closer, GM Murphy’s deficit currently 18.1 heading into a busy 12-game Thursday.

Central Red Army: 11.9
Polar Bears: 13.4

The Polar Bears are finally showing signs of life, the beleaguered team now leading the Central Red Army after securing 5.0 points on Wednesday.

Misconducts: 18.0
Wild Ducks: 27.3

The Misconducts were good on Wednesday but the Wild Ducks were better, Evgeny Kuznetsov (1g, 3a) powering the Ducks to a 12.0 point showing and a 9.3 point lead.

B2 needed someone other than John Gibson -- the team MVP in the early going -- to get the train moving on the tracks. Odd for me to be rooting for a player on Philadelphia. But as we know, fantasy NHL hockey and real NHL hockey are two different things.

It is rare that I draft Philadelphia players (other than old favorite D Mark Streit who is now retired). But I thought Voracek was a good catch at that point of the FHL draft, Round 4, Pick 4 (76 overall).

Hoping that it is a good thing for B2 that D Victor Hedman has played only one game so far. Once Tampa Bay plays more games, starting tonight against visiting Vancouver, he hopefully will add to the B2 points total.

Due to the unbalanced early schedule - seven teams have played four games; four teams have played only one - at this point, it's difficult to separate the good from the bad from the ugly.
