PostSubject: WEEK 26 (thru Thursday)   Fri Apr 06, 2018 1:20 pm

Hoping for a big night from John Tavares to bolster their 4.8 point advantage, the Bluliners were instead mauled by Badger Bob, GM Chester's team clawing their way back into first place on Thursday, a strong 12.1 point outing providing the third year franchise with a 2.3 point lead.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
Borrowing the catchphrase of Red Wings announcer Mickey Redmond, "This is no place for a nervous person," Badger Bob's lead completely unsafe with just 20 NHL games remaining in the season. Sulking in the locker room after Thursday's games - the Bluliners licking their wounds - GM Hamilton rallied his team with an inspirational "Hey, it could have been worse" speech, Hamilton reminding his team that Phil Kessel (2g, 1a) collected 7.0 points on Badger Bob's bench. It remains to be seen if the speech will propel the Bluliners to the title, the bolstered Bobs now confident that they'll be the ones doing the bowing when the curtain draws on the season.

The Bout for the Money
While most of the attention is rightfully on the heated battle for the FHL Cup, the bout for the money has arguably the most at stake. While the second place team won't receive the prized Cup, they'll still skate away with $325.00. The loser of the bout for the money - the team that finishes in 4th place - receives nothing (not even a pat on the back). The team currently in-line to receive nothing is the Central Red Army, the Army again conceding ground to the 3rd place Boulder Flyers, GM Buker's troops now trailing by 6.5 points.

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
The battle for the Laughing Bag is looking like a two team affair as the Mooses and Vegas Vipers are 20.2 and 19.1 points clear of the basement. With the hope that his team can still catch the Polar Bears, GM Murphy sent a "Please Play" email to Erik Karlsson and a "Please Get Better" message to Evander Kane, the shorthanded SC Cobras in dire need of bodies, the last place team trailing the 11th place Bears by 1.9 points.
