PostSubject: WEEK 26 (thru Tuesday)   Wed Apr 04, 2018 11:09 am

Apparently Paul Maurice isn't aware that Badger Bob is in a heated battle for the FHL Cup, the Winnipeg coach resting three Bobs on Tuesday; Blake Wheeler (pictured left), Connor Hellebuyck and Jacob Trouba all parked while the Bluliners sheepishly drove into first place.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
The race for the 2017-18 FHL Cup championship is the closest it's been in over two weeks, the Bluliners and their 15.0 point Tuesday returning to 1st place for the first time since March 18th. With a mere 2.8 points separating the two teams, who plays and who rests could ultimately decide the winner. Injuries may also be a factor as Bluliner Kari Lehtonen was denied a possible win on Tuesday when he left the game in the first period. Given the charged situation, both GM Chester and GM Hamilton were recently advised by the FHL Safety and Emotional Support Commission (FHLSESC) - do not navigate the final five days of the season without a fastened seatbelt and a qualified therapist.

The Bout for the Money
The Boulder Flyers shoved the Central Red Army out of the money on Tuesday, Mathew Barzal (2g, 1a) and Andrei Vasilevskiy (33 save shutout) combining for 13.6 of their team's 17.6 points, GM Morgan's squad moving into 3rd place, now 2.4 points better than the 4th place Army. The Ice Cats were buoyed by the 10.0 point game of Taylor Hall (2g, 2a), GM Cutshall's team pouncing into 5th place, the kicking Cats now 28.0 points shy of the green stuff.

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
The SC Cobras remain on ground level but there's concern in the snakes camp amid reports that defenseman Erik Karlsson is done for the season. That news combined with the injury to Evander Kane has GM Murphy looking nervously over his shoulder, the Cobras leading the last place Polar Bears by just 5.8 points. On Tuesday the Vegas Vipers may have wiped their hands clean of the Laughing Bag, Jamie Benn netting a "thank you very much" hat trick. Meanwhile, the Mooses - the team most deserving of the Laughing Bag (no roster moves since Week 12) - continues to live among the Groundlevelers, the vulnerable 10th place team 18.3 points clear of the cellar.
