PostSubject: WEEK 24 (thru Friday)   Sat Mar 24, 2018 12:45 pm

The play of John Tavares was a huge reason for the Bluliners early success, the superstar forward contributing standings-altering bonus points - including two hat tricks in a span of three days. Apparently, as Tavares goes so do the Bluliners, the typically point-heavy 28 year-old with only two goals since February 16th and only one bonus-point game since December 21st; his less dominant team in dire need of his elite services as they battle Badger Bob for the coveted FHL Cup.

The Battle for the FHL Cup
David Pastrnak's late highlight-reel goal ended the Bluliners hope of a Kari Lehtonen win - and provided his Badger Bob team with an additional 2.0 points - the Bob's closing Friday with 11.6 points and their biggest lead of the season, GM Chester's squad now 13.4 points better than the deflating Bluliners.

The Bout for the Money
And on the fifth day They rested - as any team would do after a divine performance - the Central Red Army netting nothing as they used Friday to plan their assault on a 17-game weekend. The Boulder Flyers failed to take advantage of the Army's nothingness, GM Morgan's team also held in check. The Wild Ducks made up some ground, a 4.0 point showing placing the defending champion 18.9 points behind the 3rd place Army.

The Scrap for the Laughing Bag
The FHL doesn't have enough money in it's budget to send the Fat Lady to a Laughing Bag match, as such, the Fat Lady's more affordable understudy has been summoned - The Slightly Overweight Lady heading to Southern California early next week, the shorthanded SC Cobras now trailing the Vegas Vipers by 41.4.

Semifinals, Playoffs
Playoffs are three weeks in length (Weeks 23-25). Prize money is awarded to three teams: the H2H champion ($100.00), runner-up ($70.00) and winner of the consolation match ($30.00).

Wild Ducks: 27.0
Badger Bob: 54.4

The Wild Ducks have been doubled-up by their opponent, Badger Bob now leading this semifinal match by 27.4. That's the (really) bad news. The (sorta) good news: Patrik Laine has returned to the ice and the Penguins are playing on Sunday, so the Ducks still have a puncher's chance to advance.

Central Red Army: 61.1
Bluliners: 43.7

The H2H final could be a meeting of two expansion teams (ironically, the consolation match would feature two Original Six franchises), the Central Red Army still leading the Bluliners by a lot with two days remaining in the week.
