WEEK 18 (thru Friday) 6H7ToQR
On Friday Mathew Barzal became the first rookie in NHL history to record two five-assist games - and tied a 100 year-old rookie record (Joe Malone, 1917-18) by posting his third five-point game of the season; Barzal's recent numbers gracing the Boulder Flyers with 10.0 FHL points.

Boulder Flyers: 43.2
Vegas Vipers: 36.4

The Boulder Flyers were better than their opponent but the Vegas Vipers remain in contention, a solid 10.0 point outing leaving GM Miller's team 6.8 points back.

Wild Ducks: 31.0
SC Cobras: 24.0

The Wild Ducks were the best Friday team, Mike Green (1g, 1a, 6.0 pts) pacing the 15.0 point attack, the Ducks now 7.0 better than the SC Cobras.

Ice Cats: 33.8
Bluliners: 43.2

The Ice Cats weren't good on Friday as they conceded 9.1 points to their opponent, the Bluliners now leading this pivotal Probert clash by 9.4.

Badger Bob: 41.7
Misconducts: 42.4

Very little separated these two teams on Friday, the Misconducts gaining 0.4 points, their advantage over Badger Bob still scant at 0.7.

Ice Hogs: 31.1
Polar Bears: 25.9

The Polar Bears jumped back into this match, a 7.0 point evening placing GM Elya's squad 5.2 points behind the Friday-quiet Ice Hogs.

Mooses: 35.0
Central Red Army: 41.5

The Central Red Army carded 5.5 points on Day 5 of the seven day week, GM Buker's Army now 6.5 points better than the meandering Mooses.

Any mention of Joe Malone, "Phantom Joe," a good one by MorganWigge.

Even though 1917-18 was the first season of the NHL and all players were rookies, great accomplishment by Barzal.

Malone in 1917-18 played for Montreal Canadiens. He was prolific on offense and to this day is the only player in NHL history to score seven goals in a game.

Deservedly inducted into HOF in 1950.

Now did any of our Detroit area owners watch the game last night, specifically the final 6:33 of the third period following the Bertuzzi major penalty for slashing?

If yes, please share WTH happened. I was stoked to come out of that wild finish with 6.6 3.0 1 FG 1 FA from Bailey, 3.0 1 DG from Leddy and .6 6 saves from Halak, who relieved Tommy G. and got the win.

I didn’t watch the game though I did know the Red Wings were winning 5-2 in the third period. When I saw the final score I was peeved, then I saw the box score and felt better. 😛

For purpose of FHL, it's all about the box score. Without the Islanders' comeback, I would have had 1.0 on the night, just an assist from Wheeler. So I hear you.
