PostSubject: WEEK 12 (thru Thursday)   Fri Dec 22, 2017 1:37 pm

All attempts to wake the napping Polar Bears have thus far failed, GM Elya's team again firing blanks during the early stages of the week, a paltry 9.0 points leaving the former FHL Cup champion 106.8 points behind the first place Bluliners.

Polar Bears: 9.0
Central Red Army: 32.1

Not only are the Polar Bears falling out of the Cup chase, they're also in danger of losing their fifth match of the season, the Central Red Army snow sporting a 23.1 point lead.

Ice Cats: 16.7
Mooses: 40.0

One day after being called out for falling back into the basement, the Mooses responded by posting the best Thursday score, a thick 20.2 point outing placing GM McCormick's team 23.3 points in front of the flatlining Ice Cats.

Badger Bob: 39.6
Bluliners: 36.3

The first place Bluliners were better than Badger Bob on Thursday, a 12.3 point effort drawing GM Hamilton's squad to within 3.6 points of the second place Bobs.

Misconducts: 29.6
Wild Ducks: 31.1

The Wild Ducks have commandeered the lead, a 13.1 point Thursday placing GM Collard's defending champion team 1.5 points in front of the Misconducts.

SC Cobras: 31.5
Vegas Vipers: 32.2

An 11.7 point effort wasn't enough to keep the SC Cobras out of the basement but it did push the third year franchise closer to the Vegas Vipers, GM Murphy's snakes now trailing by just 0.7.

Boulder Flyers: 24.3
Ice Hogs: 23.6

The Ice Hogs carded a respectable 12.7 points on Thursday, the two-time champion now just 0.7 points behind the Boulder Flyers with Friday and Saturday remaining in the shortened pre-holiday week.

between Bluliners and Badger Bob (as well as Wild Ducks versus Misconducts, Vegas Vipers versus SC Cobras and Boulder Flyers versus Ice Hogs, an Original Six match-up).

It may sound like Badger Bob is chanting "TOGA, TOGA, TOGA!!!"

Not so. He is really chanting "COBRAS, COBRAS, COBRAS!!!"

Upon re-checking box scores this morning, found that there was a negative scoring change by game officials re: Badger Bob. Tampa Bay D Hedman was credited with two assists during the game. But as of this morning, only one assist was in the box score. The change resulted in -2.0 for B2. It happens.

Bluliners with four players in action tonight -- two Calgary and two Florida -- versus one for B2.

Montreal at Calgary, on paper, not a favorable matchup re: B2. Can explosive Gaudreau be held in check for a second straight game? He is capable of hitting bonus territory in any given game. Smith will be starting in goal for the Flames.

Meanwhile, the other matchup -- Minnesota and Florida -- seems to be a bit more favorable re: B2. Bluliners have Florida Fs Huberdeau and Barkov in action. Backup goaltender Stalock gets the start for Minnesota. He has been solid in place of the injured Dubnyk.

Minnesota F Staal will be the only B2 player in action tonight.

Three days to go.
