PostSubject: WEEK 1 (thru Wednesday)   Thu Oct 05, 2017 12:24 pm

GM Miller and company apparently like their new digs in the desert, the team formerly known as Between the Pipes ripping 17.5 points, Wayne Simmonds (3g) and his Vegas Vipers sitting on top of the league after opening day.

Vegas Vipers: 17.5
SC Cobras: 1.0

"Not yet, already, seriously?!" said the Fat Lady (while devouring chicken wings), the ample one already put on call - the best team on opening day pitted against the slowest starter, the Vegas Vipers leading the SC Cobras by 16.5 points with only four days remaining in the short week.

Central Red Army: 17.0
Polar Bears: 7.9

Connor McDavid didn't disappoint those who believe the 20 year-old is the second coming of Wayne Gretzky, the first player drafted depositing three goals and 9.0 points during his first stint on the 2017-18 ice, his Central Red Army team already 9.1 points better than the Polar Bears.

Wild Ducks: 14.0
Misconducts: 11.0

Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere (3a) was good but he was no match for the Wild Ducks best blueliner, Alex Pietrangelo (2g) netting 9.0 points, his Ducks team 3.0 points better than the Misconducts.

Boulder Flyers: 11.0
Ice Hogs: 6.0

Not distracted by the fact that he was playing his former team, Auston Matthews netted 5.0 points (1g, 2a) his new Boulder Flyers team jumping in front of the Ice Hogs, GM Morgan's birds leading by 5.0 points.

Mooses: 5.4
Ice Cats: 1.0

The Mooses were the beneficiary of a Cam Talbot 27 save shutout, his 5.4 points providing the Mooses with a 4.4 point lead over the mostly dormant Ice Cats.

Badger Bob: 5.0
Bluliners: 3.1

There were a lot of points to be had on opening day but the Bluiners and Badger Bob collected just a few, both teams starting slowly, the Bobs carrying a 1.9 point lead into the final four days of the first week of the season.
