Not going to worry if there are owners among us who do not care for the music of Pink Floyd. The British band is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. So they definitely were doing something right.
So what does that have to do with little old Badger Bob in the FHL? Well, the lesson is that you can NEVER take points for granted.
After two days in the current matchup against Bluliners, LOB2 has a round number, the worst possible round number, 0.0.
Brings to mind lyrics from the Pink Floyd song "Time" on the album "Dark Side of the Moon," which was such a gigantic commercial success that people may have lost count how many weeks it spent at No. 1 on the Billboard chart.
"...Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun..."
And I'll leave you with one more Pink Floyd reference. What is my reaction to 0.0 points after two days? Well, Pink Floyd produced a song titled "Comfortably Numb." It is on the epic double album "The Wall."
Sadly, Badger Bob is "uncomfortably numb" after two days. But the good news is that Ken H. kindly has not blown my team out of the water so far. The deficit I think is still in the manageable range. But not by much.
But we'll see. Five days to go.
As we remember, Between the Pipes was threatening in an earlier period this season the league all-time low point total for a period. BTP escaped that dubious honor. I sincerely hope I am not looking up at 11.0 or whatever the all-time low is say by Friday. But you never know. Can never take points for granted, even when Carey Price is tending goal.
