WEEK 6 (thru Tuesday) SbA02Ah
James van Riemsdyk was perfect on Tuesday, depositing all three of his shots, the 27-year-old forward finishing with 12.0 points (3g, 1a), his Misconducts team now just 28.4 points from the top.

Misconducts: 29.6
Silicon Valley Slashers: 11.4

The Misconducts enjoyed their most productive day of the season, their league-best 29.6 point effort drawing GM Smalley's team to within earshot of the first place Ice Hogs. The haul also provided the Misconducts with a comfortable H2H cushion, leading the Silicon Valley Sashers and GM Murphy's ringing ears by 18.2 points

Ice Hogs: 11.5
Wild Ducks: 14.4

Embroiled in a heated duel with the Wild Ducks, GM Henry was singing a Randy VanWarmer song after Steven Stamkos went down, the high scoring forward shelved with an apparent knee injury. Shorthanded, the Hogs couldn't keep pace with the Wild Ducks, GM Collard's team now 2.9 points in front.

Central Red Army: 6.3
SC Cobras: 8.0

Kevin Hayes pocketed two goals for his SC Cobras team, GM Murphy departing Tuesday carrying 8.0 points. The Central Red Army bagged 6.3, GM Buker's deficit just 1.7 points with five days remaining in the week.

Badger Bob: 0.0
Bluliners: 8.6

The starting pistol was fired on Monday. Two days later Badger Bob is still standing at the starting line, GM Chester's team pointless. The Bluliners meanwhile have skipped in front of the favored Bobs, GM Hamilton's lead the same as his teams Week 6 score.

Ice Cats: 17.0
Polar Bears: 6.0

Murmurs of "first to worst" are being heard around the league, the defending champion Polar Bears tumbling to 11th place on Tuesday. Meanwhile the Ice Cats are feasting, a 14.0 point outing placing GM Cutshall's team 11.0 points in front.

Between the Pipes: 7.4
Boulder Flyers: 8.3

Between the Pipes were the beneficiary of a 22 save shutout from Cam Ward (4.4 points) but received little else, the Boulder Flyers leading this non-divisional scuffle by 0.9 points.

PostSubject: Pink Floyd music for Badger Bob after two days   WEEK 6 (thru Tuesday) EmptyWed Nov 16, 2016 4:44 pm

Not going to worry if there are owners among us who do not care for the music of Pink Floyd. The British band is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. So they definitely were doing something right.

So what does that have to do with little old Badger Bob in the FHL? Well, the lesson is that you can NEVER take points for granted.

After two days in the current matchup against Bluliners, LOB2 has a round number, the worst possible round number, 0.0.

Brings to mind lyrics from the Pink Floyd song "Time" on the album "Dark Side of the Moon," which was such a gigantic commercial success that people may have lost count how many weeks it spent at No. 1 on the Billboard chart.

"...Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun..."

And I'll leave you with one more Pink Floyd reference. What is my reaction to 0.0 points after two days? Well, Pink Floyd produced a song titled "Comfortably Numb." It is on the epic double album "The Wall."

Sadly, Badger Bob is "uncomfortably numb" after two days. But the good news is that Ken H. kindly has not blown my team out of the water so far. The deficit I think is still in the manageable range. But not by much.

But we'll see. Five days to go.

As we remember, Between the Pipes was threatening in an earlier period this season the league all-time low point total for a period. BTP escaped that dubious honor. I sincerely hope I am not looking up at 11.0 or whatever the all-time low is say by Friday. But you never know. Can never take points for granted, even when Carey Price is tending goal.
