PostSubject: WEEK 2 (thru Wednesday)   Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:51 am

Just 18-years-old, Patrik Laine was all man on Wednesday, the 7th round draft choice netting three goals, his performance adding 9.0 to the Ice Hogs league-best pile of points.

Ice Hogs: 36.9
Ice Cats: 15.9

The youth movement is serving GM Henry well. Auston Matthews - just 19-years-old - put the Ice Hogs on top; the even younger Patrik Laine fortifying the Hogs position as the league's best team. The Hogs overall lead is now 17.7; their H2H cushion thick at 21.0 points

Bluliners: 18.3
Misconducts: 25.1

The Misconducts inched further ahead of the Bluliners, GM Smalley's H2H advantage now 6.8 points with four days remaining in the week.

SC Cobras: 35.4
Between the Pipes: 10.0

With only two NHL games on the schedule there weren't many points to be had. As such, Between the Pipes and the SC Cobras both departed the day with none, GM Murphy maintaining his comfortable 25.4 lead.

Wild Ducks: 16.3
Polar Bears: 19.8

The Polar Bears gained 3.0 points on the idle Wild Ducks, GM Elya's H2H lead now 3.5. Overall, the clouds are ominous and dark, the defending FHL Cup champion still in last place, now 51.6 points behind the first place Ice Hogs.

Central Red Army: 17.0
Boulder Flyers: 18.3

Mark Scheifele (1g, 2a) paced the Central Red Army assault, GM Buker's team drawing to within 1.3 of the Boulder Flyers. The Army now reside in 8th place overall; the Boulder Flyers occupy slot No. 6.

Silicon Valley Slashers: 16.3
Badger Bob: 16.0

The barn burner of the week finds the Silicon Valley Slashers nursing a 0.3 lead over Badger Bob. Overall, the Bobs are in 7th place, their deficit now 37.3. The Slashers remain one step from the basement, the 11th place squad 44.4 points back.

It was pretty sweet to see Matthews get denied on the breakaway, and Laine fire it home for the hat-trick and win..
