PostSubject: WEEK 24 (thru Thursday)   Fri Apr 08, 2016 12:49 pm

With the Bluliners on the verge of being removed from FHL Cup contention, Super Byfuglien saved the day, the puck-launching defenseman keeping his team alive with a blistering 12.0 point performance (1g, 3a).

The Battle for the FHL Cup
All appeared to be going right for the Polar Bears. Both goaltenders won and GM Elya's stable of forwards and defensemen were peppering the scoreboard with points. Add to that: the Bluliners were struggling mightily. With the sun beginning to set on Thursday, the Polar Bears lead was teetering on 30.0 points. Cue Dustin Byfuglien. Late night - as GM Hamilton was preparing to write his concession speech - Byfuglien knocked the puck out of the park, his 12.0 point game drawing his squad back into the FHL Cup picture. With all 30 teams playing on Saturday, the steel-chinned Bluliners still have a punchers chance, trailing the Polar Bears by 16.1 points.

The Battle for 2nd Place (Overall)
The Misconducts fumbled Thursday, a 4.0 point outing dropping GM Smalley's dissolving team 41.5 points behind the 2nd place Bluliners. With only three days remaining in the season, the battle for 2nd place is now the same fracus as the battle for the FHL Cup. The team that finishes second best will be either the Polar Bears or Bluliners.

The Battle for 3rd Place (Overall)
GM Murphy is starting to think "damn, maybe I can do this," a 10.0 point Thursday lifting his SC Cobras to within 21.7 points of 3rd place and it's $130.00 prize. While a 3rd place finish remains a possibility, the Cobras could finish as far back as 5th place, the started-their-kick-too-late Boulder Flyers just 14.2 points back.

The Battle for 2nd Place (H2H)
While Badger Bob hasn't been able to dent the Polar Bears armor, like a crusty barnacle, the team is hanging on, a 15.5 point Thursday keeping GM Chester's Bobs within striking distance. With only three days to be played - and needing a win to finish alone in 2nd place - Badger Bob trails the Polar Bears by 8.7 points.

Badger Bob: 46.5
Polar Bears: 55.2

Misconducts: 34.8
Bluliners: 46.5

Between the Pipes: 47.3
SC Cobras: 36.0

Boulder Flyers: 67.8
Ice Hogs: 47.4

Ice Cats: 52.1
Wild Ducks: 44.1

Silicon Valley Slashers: 43.6
Central Red Army: 37.1
