| A second banana for much of the year, Jimmy Howard is now relishing his role as a starter, the Misconducts backstop gobbling up 9.0 points (30 save shutout, assist) on Wednesday. The Battle for the FHL CupWith no Polar Bears taking to the ice, it was the Bluliners turn to take a free swing at the first place team. With two players dressed, GM Hamilton mostly swung and missed. Pavel Datsyuk failed to register a point while Steve Mason, despite playing well, was saddled with a loss. All told, the Bluliners gained 1.2 points on the front-running Bears, GM Elya's advantage now 15.8 points with four days remaining in the season. The Battle for 2nd Place (Overall)On the strength of Jimmy Howard's monster game, the Misconducts gained 7.8 points on the 2nd place Bluliners. GM Hamilton's grip on the $250.00 prize remains firm however, his Bluliners still comfortably in front of the Misconducts, leading by 30.5 points The Battle for 3rd Place (Overall)While Jimmy Howard's game might have done little to help the Misconducts 2nd place chances, GM Smalley's team is now 27.7 points better than the Wednesday-idle 4th place SC Cobras. GM Murphy is still hopeful however as two of the remaining four days are jam-packed with games. Translated: plenty of points to be had. The Battle for 2nd Place (H2H)If Badger Bob loses, at least one other team is going to claim a share of the $30.00 prize. The surging Misconducts could be one of those teams as they now trail the Bluliners by just 0.7 points. Between the Pipes also has an eye on the money, currently leading the SC Cobras by 12.0 large points.
