PostSubject: WEEK 15 (thru Saturday)   Sun Jan 24, 2016 8:49 pm

Evgeni Malkin got his team off to a fast start, a 9.0 point hat trick lifting the Bluliners into 4th place overall, just 28.0 points behind the first place Polar Bears.

Bluliners: 12.0
Boulder Flyers: 9.4

The Bluliners were the second best Saturday team but they have no reason to be comfortable, the Boulder Flyers nipping at GM Hamilton's heels, trailing by just 2.6.

Polar Bears: 5.0
Badger Bob: 3.0

One of the most important H2H matches of the season is a five day sprint, the first place Polar Bears leading the second place (H2H) Bobs by 2.0 points with four days remaining in the pre-All-Star game week.

Misconducts: 8.8
Between the Pipes: 7.5

After one day the Misconducts smile is broader than the smile of Between the Pipes, GM Smalley's 3rd place team currently leading GM Miller's squad by 1.3.

SC Cobras: 7.2
Silicon Valley Slashers: 6.0

Bragging rights between the Murphy brothers currently belong to the SC Cobras, the 2nd place team (overall) currently leading the 5th place Slashers by 1.2.

Wild Ducks: 12.6
Ice Cats: 9.4

The Wild Duck faithful finally have a reason to cheer, GM Collard's under-fire franchise posting the best Saturday score; a number that has provided the Ducks with a 3.2 lead over the Ice Cats.

Ice Hogs: 9.0
Redliners: 6.3

The Ice Hogs continue to trek north, a 9.0 point Saturday drawing the pigs to within 85.5 of first place; 2.7 points in front of their Week 15 H2H opponent.

Paul, the play on words. Geni as in "Evgeni."

For the record, Malkin is called "Geno" by his teammates.

And Paul, you used Dream in your headline. For me, "Geni" is close enough to "Jeannie" to warrant:

Have to say Barbara Eden as Jeannie outdoes any NHL ice girls. And I believe still stunning now in her later years.

Based on the color scheme of her outfit in this picture, looks like Jeannie, if in the NHL, would be skating for:

Red and white!!! Hmmm!!! (Sorry, Arizona Coyotes and Carolina Hurricanes. Color scheme is red, white and black.)

Remember that the Detroit Red Wings had two other names prior to the current. First, the team was known as the Detroit Cougars. The image above is a Cougars' uniform from the late 1920s. The team then was known as the Detroit Falcons. Then in 1932, the team changed the name for what I assume is the final time to Detroit Red Wings.

Headline references EvGENI Malkin while, yes, also paying homage to the late-1960's version of Barbara Eden. Razz

Initial headline was "Dream of Genie" but thought it a bit long. Settled on "Dream Genie" as it also - in a (very) runabout way - is a tip of the cap to David Bowie. Smile
