WEEK 9 (thru Monday) NLZj91l
After enduring a miserable start to the season - including time spent in the FHL basement - the SC Cobras have sprung to life, a Radim Vrbata hat trick lifting the once flatlining squad into 5th place in the overall standings, a mere 29.7 points shy of a season-ending payday (3rd place).

Redliners: 17.7
SC Cobras: 37.0

It's all good news for GM Murphy and his SC Cobras, the expansion franchise now an active participant in the chase for the coveted FHL Cup. Their H2H fortunes have also took a turn for the better, the Cobras and their 3-5 record now leading the sagging Redliners by 19.3.

Badger Bob: 30.1
Ice Hogs: 25.4

The Cobras weren't the only team making noise on Tuesday as Badger Bob - buoyed by a two goal performance (9.0 points) by Roman Josi - raced past the thumb-twiddling Misconducts and into 3rd place. Once drifting in the wrong direction, the Bobs are now in the money; just 54.0 points behind the first place Polar Bears.

Polar Bears: 37.4
Ice Cats: 12.7

After a gluttonous Saturday the Polar Bears have quieted, netting just 4.0 points on Sunday and 3.0 points on Monday. The Ice Cats however have failed to take advantage of their opponent's mediocrity, the tires-spinning squad still well back of the Bears, GM Cutshall's hole currently 24.7 points deep.

Wild Ducks: 12.2
Silicon Valley Slashers: 14.1

The Silicon Valley Slashers were the only team to register a point on Monday, GM Murphy's team increasing their H2H lead over the Wild Ducks to 1.9. The overall standings find the Slashers 39.7 behind the Bears while the Wild Ducks continue to wallow in 10th place, triple digits behind the best of the FHL.

Bluliners: 5.0
Misconducts: 14.2

The Misconducts finally found a spark plug for their misfiring engine, a 7.0 point performance providing GM Smalley with a 9.2 lead over the comatose Bluliners. Overall, the Misconducts have been pushed out of the money as they now occupy slot No. 4. The Bluliners are the worst team of the week, a measly 5.0 points dropping GM Hamilton's squad 86.4 points behind the division leader.

Between the Pipes: 11.3
Boulder Flyers: 20.1

With a team saturated with Coloradians it's either feast of famine for Between the Pipes. After a few weeks of good eatin', GM Miller is starting to get hungry, a below average "thru Monday" leaving the Pipes 8.8 points behind the last place Boulder Flyers. Overall, Between the Pipes are nearing the dreadful century mark, trailing the first place Polar Bears by 97.2.

PostSubject: A high-scoring matchup in progress and VIP at Josi apartment   WEEK 9 (thru Monday) EmptyTue Dec 08, 2015 6:18 pm

IHD, that's a NICE post!!! That is creative!!! I am LOL!!!

As said at start of the period, this would be a FUN matchup. Both teams on top of their game so far.

People at Belle Tire may now be wondering why Badger Bob versus Ice Hogs was not selected as the Belle Tire Match of the Week. Sidney Crosby versus Penguins' fan GM Chester. But all we can do is put in our lineup, observe the match and not worry about how Belle Tire spends its marketing budget.

As far as Freddie is concerned, just a lucky break that a VIP was at the Preds' game. He was among those invited to impromptu festivities after the game at Josi apartment to celebrate the two goals.

Who was he? Click the link below to find out.

BTW, in case Freddie got through the first line of defense, we could have deployed backup.

On to Tuesday. Largest number of NHL games of the period roll tonight.

Clint was at the festivities because Roman Josi is his favorite NHL player. That's because Clint starred in "The Outlaw JOSEY Wales."
