| Tantalizingly close to winning a championship in past years, GM Elya might finally have a team good enough to hoist the FHL Cup, his Karlsson-powered Polar Bears now 21.3 points better than the second place Misconducts.Polar Bears: 53.1 Bluliners: 40.9Lead by the 12.0 point performance of Erik Karlsson (2g, 1a) the Polar Bears erupted for a gaudy 22.3 on Thursday. In addition to padding their overall lead, GM Elya’s 3-2 Bears are now 12.2 better than the 3-2 Bluiners. The Bluliners netted 8.2 to remain in 4th place overall, now a distant 29.2 back of the streaking Bears. Between the Pipes: 50.0 Ice Cats: 39.5On Wednesday the Pipes were standing on the first step of the stairs leading to the FHL basement. After Thursday, GM Miller is now sitting on a fat chair in the FHL living room, a 21.8 outing lifting the Pipes into 8th place. Martin Jones (34 save shutout) and Matt Duchene (2g) did most of the damage, the 2-3 Pipes now 10.5 better than the 4-1 Ice Cats. Misconducts: 39.7 Redliners: 37.4The Misconducts were the beneficiary of a 10.8 outing, enough points to push the veteran franchise past the Silicon Valley Slashers in the overall standings. While the overall news is good, H2H-wise GM Smalley and his 4-1 team still has a fight on his hands, the upset-minded Redliners just 2.3 back with only a six-game Friday left to be played. Boulder Flyers: 43.5 Silicon Valley Slashers: 36.9 With only 7.0 points on a point-heavy Thursday, the Silicon Valley Slashers have fallen into 3rd place, 1.0 point back of the 2nd place Misconducts. H2H-wise, the win-starved franchise is still looking at an uphill climb, GM Murphy’s 1-4 squad trailing the 2-3 Boulder Flyers by 6.6. Ice Hogs: 40.7 SC Cobras: 39.3The Cobra’s continue to claw away at the Ice Hogs H2H lead, a 9.0 point Thursday drawing GM Murphy’s 2-3 team to within 1.4 of the limping pigs. The Ice Hogs, 3-2, were only good for 4.9 on Thursday, a number that kept them in last place overall, though just 2.0 points worse than the 11th place Flyers. Badger Bob: 32.9 Wild Ducks: 39.4Badger Bob was mostly silent on Thursday, a 3.0 point performance leaving the expansion franchise dangerously close to losing for the third time this season. The Wild Ducks departed the day with 9.3, GM Collard’s 1-4 team now 6.5 better than the 5th place Bobs. LINK: Standings |
