With the end of the season fast approaching and single digits separating the Ducks and Flyers, every point scored is huge. Points not scored are also huge and that is what the Wild Ducks encountered on Monday - Shark forwards Patrick Marleau and Logan Couture both firing blanks. The Battle for the FHL CupIt was a relatively quiet night of hockey with only five games being contested. The Wild Ducks iced five players while the Boulder Flyers had four players dressed. When the ice spray settled the Boulder Flyers had picked up ground, their lead growing slightly from 7.7 to 9.3. Blake Wheeler was the Flyers best player, netting a goal, while the Ducks were the recipient of two Tyler Seguin assists. Logan Couture and Patrick Marleau were held in check as was the Boulder Flyers top goal scorer Rick Nash.
The Battle for 3rd PlaceWith a $100.00 on the line the Ice Hogs have to play just well enough to keep the Polar Bears at bay, their lead rather generous at 27.3. The Bears lost ground on Monday - and with only five days remaining in the season - an order of bonus points has to be placed very soon if the Bears are to corral the Hogs.
The Battle for the Laughing BagThe Ice Cats seemed like a sure bet to win this years booby prize but the 9th place Timbers have stalled, GM Cutshall's Cats drawing to within 20.2 of daylight. The oddsmakers are still siding with the Ice Cats but the Timbers are by no means safe just yet.
Boulder Flyers: 37.8
Polar Bears: 25.8For the Polar Bears to earn a share of second place H2H money ($10.00) they have to beat the Boulder Flyers.
Wild Ducks: 23.8
Ice Hogs: 24.3For the Wild Ducks to earn a share of second place H2H money they have to beat the Ice Hogs.
Bluliners: 21.9
Timbers: 11.0A H2H win ($2.00) is on the line. That's two bean burritos at Taco Bell - a full meal (if you're not particularly hungry).
Ice Cats: 7.0
Misconducts: 33.1Despite this weeks trouncing of the Ice Cats, the Misconducts have the worst H2H record. Rather remarkable considering they are lodged in 5th place in the overall standings.
Redliners: 15.0
Dream Team: 20.4If the Dream Team win they will have won $26.00 in H2H cash; a Redliner victory would gift GM Megan a total of $22.00.
